Player says he is honored with offer from Rubro-Negro

0Roberto Alvarado, a standout from Chivas Guadalajara, revealed in an interview with the TUDN portal that he received an official proposal from Flamengo during the last transfer window. The Mexican striker, however, chose to remain at the Mexican club, despite considering the offer attractive and being aware of Mengão's strength on the international stage.
Alvarado, who is considered one of the great promises of Mexican football, admitted that the Mais Querido's proposal made him reflect on his career. "Talking to my representative, he commented that Flamengo approached us. Obviously, this makes you think a lot of things. It's a very competitive league, a team that is always fighting for the Libertadores and Brasileirão", said the player.
Despite CRF's interest, the striker highlighted that his focus, at this moment, is on continuing to perform well at Chivas. “I'm thinking about Chivas, about being calm and focused on doing things well here.”
Alvarado also revealed that the desire working in Europe was decisive in his decision to refuse Mengão's offer. "Chivas is a great showcase and I remain focused on doing things well here, so I can fulfill my dream of playing in Europe. I feel like it's not too late to go, so I hope to continue being called up to the national team", added the athlete, who has his eye on keeping his name among the squad for the Mexican national team.
With spells at Club Celaya, Pachuca, Necaxa and Cruz Azul, Alvarado has established himself at Chivas since the 2021/22 season. In 106 games for the club, he accumulated 22 goals and 20 assists.
After Alvarado's refusal, Rubro-Negro returned to the market and reinforced its cast with two big names. The Rio club agreed to sign Michael, who ended amicably with Al-Hilal, from Saudi Arabia, and Gonzalo Plata, signed for US$9.1 million (around R$51.9 million) from Al-Sadd , from Qatar. Both players arrive to reinforce the squad in the final stretch of the season.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
