Defender David Luiz showed once again why he is one of the most admired players, not only for his talent on the field, but also for his humanity off it. After the victory of Flamengo over Millonarios 3-0, in a game valid for the Copa Libertadores, the athlete starred in a scene that enchanted fans and reinforced his positive image.
Shortly after the final whistle, while still in the mixed zone, David Luiz was approached by a family who were anxiously waiting for an opportunity to meet him and take a photo. The player, always very attentive, not only fulfilled the request, but went further: he spoke to the family, asked their address and promised to send signed shirts.
CLASS IN HUMANITY AND CARE FOR FANS < /b>
This attitude was celebrated on social media, where fans highlighted David Luiz's generosity and simplicity. Many commented that gestures like this are increasingly rare in modern football, where the distance between players and fans seems to constantly increase.
The match itself was dominated by Flamengo , which gave Millonarios no chance. The score of 3-0 reflected the game well, with the Rio team imposing its pace and showing technical and tactical superiority. The goals were scored by Pedro twice and an own goal, which contributed decisively to the result.
Evander has a contract with Cincinnati until December 2027, and the North American club stipulated a value of 17 million euros to release him.

After nearly signing with Flamengo last season, midfielder Evander, currently at FC Cincinnati in the United States, is in Botafogo's sights for the remainder of 2024. According to journalist João Van Boysen, the black and white club is competing for the signing of the 27-year-old player with Benfica in Portugal.
Evander's contract with Cincinnati runs until December 2027, and the North American club has set a fee of €17 million, approximately R$109 million, to release him. It's not yet known whether Botafogo intends to pay or negotiate a lower fee.
Revealed by Vasco, Evander was once in the plans of Flamengo's former management, who saw him as an immediate backup to Arrascaeta. At the time, however, negotiations with Portland Timbers, the club he played for before Cincinnati, ultimately fell through. Now, the midfielder's future is back on the Brazilian football radar.
The Rio de Janeiro club filed a complaint with the FIFA Player Status Resolution Chamber and now the Portuguese have been punished.

The club filed a complaint with FIFA's Player Status Resolution Chamber. Leixões was supposed to pay the first installment, €175,000 (R$1.1 million), in November 2024. Flamengo demanded payment from the Portuguese club in January but has not received the amount.
The last charge was on January 14, 2025, when Flamengo gave Leixões 48 hours to pay the adjusted amount - 196,700 euros (R$1.2 million). The Portuguese team once again failed to comply with the agreement, and Flamengo went to FIFA to collect the debt, including fines, interest, and monetary correction.
On Tuesday afternoon, Flamengo issued a statement on its official website , informing that FIFA had punished Leixões with a well-deserved transfer ban . This means that the Portuguese club will not be able to register new players.
"Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that Leixões SC, from Portugal, was punished by FIFA with a Transfer Ban due to a debt with the Rio de Janeiro club, regarding the transfer of the athlete Werton. The decision of the highest entity of world football recognized Flamengo's request. Leixões will be prevented from registering new players for up to three transfer windows, or until the amount of 175 thousand euros is paid to the red-black club. The sanction comes into effect from this Tuesday (15)."
A highly successful player in Flamengo's youth academy, he was a gem of the club's nest. Werton made his professional debut for Flamengo in 2021, but never received many opportunities. He left the club with one goal in 12 games.
Pressure from fans, a new offer, and technical analysis forced Rubro-Negro to halt negotiations with Cruzeiro; the team emerges as a new interested party
|
Negotiations between Flamengo and Cruzeiro for the sale of Matheus Gonçalves suffered a setback. Even with the agreement between the clubs practically complete, the Flamengo board decided to halt the transfer. The reason? A new interested party entered the fray, and pressure from fans on social media forced the club to change its stance.
Cruzeiro was willing to pay €3.5 million (around R$20 million) for 50% of the 18-year-old player's economic rights. The amount, initially accepted by Flamengo's management , was reviewed internally after Red Bull Bragantino expressed interest and indicated that it could present a higher offer.
According to the O Tempo website, Bragantino has investigated the player's situation and expressed a willingness to enter the competition. The São Paulo club is already familiar with Matheus Gonçalves , who played on loan at Bragança Paulista for part of 2023. This prior knowledge of the player, combined with its policy of investing in young players with resale potential, makes Bragantino a serious and strategic contender in this battle.
An official offer is expected to arrive in the coming days. Another important factor influencing Flamengo 's change of direction was the strong reaction from fans on social media. Many Flamengo fans considered the €3.5 million fee for half the rights to be low, considering Matheus Gonçalves' technical potential.
The pressure created discomfort at Gávea, especially at a time when the club is seeking to strengthen its image in the eyes of the nation. The board then opted to err on the side of caution and halted negotiations with Cruzeiro.
