The Mais Querido achieved its first victory in the Libertadores, after beating Palestino (CHI) by a score of 2-0, in the second round of the group stage of the competition. After the final whistle, Pedro gave a quick interview to the press and confessed that the team's performance dropped in the second half.


“The first half was very good, a very high volume of play that we imposed here today . But in the second half we dropped the pace a little, we didn't have a good second half. We had clear chances to score, we could have scored higher in the first half. But I think it was a good match. It’s always important to win at home”, said Pedro.

DROPPING IN FLMENGO’S PERFORMANCE IN THE SECOND HALF


Despite having scored the second goal, the team from Flamengo had a drastic drop in performance in the second stage of the match against Palestino. In the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo faced Grêmio and emerged victorious with a score of 2-1. During the match, Luiz Araújo stood out, scoring both goals for Rubro-Negro. At half-time, with the game at 1-0, Reinaldo, Grêmio's left-back, insinuated that Flamengo's goal was the result of luck.

— We need to be careful with our finishing, because the ball is coming. Unfortunately, they didn't have many chances, but one they did have, they shot from outside the box and it was a goal. We had control of the game, we took the lead very well, but unfortunately we didn't score a goal - said the player, during a half-time interview.
