The president of the Brazilian Doping Control Authority (ABCD), Adriana Taboza, clarified in an exclusive interview with the MRN portal that there is no persecution directed at attacker Gabigol. Amid the controversies involving the player, Adriana highlighted that the entity has no interest in punishing Gabriel Barbosa and hopes that he will return to the field, if the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) so decides.

"I don't have any interest in Gabriel's punishment, quite the opposite. We present the data to the Court. The Court makes the judgment, based on the evidence. he is appealing. He still has a chance to reverse it, if that is CAS's understanding. I hope he overcomes this moment and that he returns to playing", said Taboza.

According to the president of ABCD, there is no pending investigation into the conduct of the officers involved in the case. The entire process is under judgment at CAS, and any complaint or qquestioning must be directed to the responsible court. "There is no complaint about the conduct of the officers to be investigated at this time.

The trial takes place at the CAS, to whom the parties must address themselves at this point in the process, regarding any fact. In the end, the CAS will publish its decision, which will naturally be communicated to ABCD. At this moment the process is closed in Brazil", concluded Adriana.

The statement by the president of ABCD comes at a crucial moment for Gabigol, who seeks to reverse the suspension and return to sporting activities as soon as possible.
