Last Sunday (15), the Flamengomanaged to dominate the match against Vasco for a good part of the time. However, due to an oversight in the defense, Rubro-Negro ended up drawing in the final minutes. After the match, Matheus Bachi, Tite's assistant, made a prediction for the game against Peñarol, on Thursday (19).

"We played a lot today (Sunday). The fans are pissed * of life because of the result. But you can't base the performance on that goal at the end of the second half. We made a mistake and we will improve on Thursday, we played a great game against Vasco. performance against Peñarol, we will win", declared Matheus, in a press conference.

Thus, in the final minutes, Vasco launched a counterattack, which ended in a goal from Philippe Coutinho. With 1-1 on the scoreboard, Mais Querido remained in fourth place with 45 points.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME

Now, the red and black squad continues to prepare for the game against Peñarol. The first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals will be this Thursday (19), at 7pm, at Maracanã. In addition, the game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Completing this Saturday (23), five years of one of the most historic achievements of the Libertadores, Flamengo won a documentary, from Disney+ streaming, about the title of the 2019 competition. Named “A Glória por Eles”, it premiered last Friday (22), at 8 pm, lasts one hour, and features exclusive interviews from names like Diego Ribas, Bruno Henrique, Rafinha, Diego Alves and Pablo Marí.

The material obviously recalls Flamengo's complete campaign in that Libertadores, and historic moments of a team that marked an era in South American football. Exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the campaign is also shown. The series features the entire plot of that year, which begins with the departure of Abel Braga and the arrival of Jorge Jesus, until the historic turn against River Plate, in Lima, Peru.

Spoilers for the Flamengo documentary have already been released

In teasers for the documentary, some statements from players and moments that will be in the production have already appeared. One of the most viral was a speech by Rafinha, in which the former Flamengo full-back, now at São Paulo, says that the team led by Jorge Jesus entered the field already knowing they were going to win.

“Enter knowing that you will win, in Brazil? That's why Flamengo fans talk about 2019. Because we already knew (that we would win before the games), we applied everything we trained. And it didn’t go wrong, everything went right”, said Rafinha.

“In 2019 was for people (who had the best football in the country), there was no one for anyone. Flamengo was outstanding that year. It was very good, it was very tasty”, he added.
