However, Flamengo asked that the release be postponed until the 23rd, after the game against Bolívar. Atalanta agreed to the change. However, when Flamengo sent the final documentation, the release date was changed to the 26th, which caused a new denial from the Italians.
Atalanta argued that it would not have enough time to hire a replacement if Wesley failed his medical exams. As a result, Flamengo made a new adjustment, changing the release date to the 23rd again, but sending the documentation was delayed by hours. When the document reached the Italians' email, it was too late for Atalanta to take the necessary measures, leading the club to rush to its plan B and give up on Wesley.
