Now it's official! Igor Jesus is no longer a Flamengo player. The midfielder's contractual termination was published in the Daily Newsletter (BID) of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) this Monday (02). Therefore, the 21-year-old is now free to sign with Estrela Amadora, from Portugal.

The Portuguese team will pay 2 million euros (R$12 million) to Flamengo for 50% of Igor Jesus' economic rights . Furthermore, the contract will be valid for four seasons. After the agreement was reached, the midfielder traveled last Saturday (31) to Portugal.

It is worth mentioning that the midfielder lost space in Tite's team to Allan and Evertton Araújo and only entered the field in two games in the last three months. In this way, the young man's staff viewed his departure with good eyes to gain 'more experience' in Portugal.

For Flamengo

Igor Jesus debuted in Flamengo's main team in 2022. At that time year, the young player played in six matches, before returning to the under-20s. In total, the midfielder leaves the red-black club after 32 games and two assists given to his teammates.

For Flamengo, Igor Jesus won two titles. As a professional, the midfielder became champion of this year's Campeonato Carioca, defeating Nova Iguaçu in the final. Furthermore, at base, the player won the Brazilian Under-20 Championship cup in the 2023 season.

Gabigol continues to be an important figure behind the scenes at Flamengo, despite not being on good terms with coach Tite. With 26 matches in the 2024 season, only three as a starter, and four goals scored, the number 99 has only three months left on his contract with the club, which already allows him to sign a pre-contract with another team.

In June, the player received an offer to renew his contract for another year, but he refused. Flamengo's president, Rodolfo Landim, revealed that the offer is still available, highlighting that confidence in Gabigol's recovery is the reason behind this proposal. “When we make a proposal, we analyze the entire context. We believe in Gabriel’s potential and that’s why we offered him a renewal for another year”, explained Landim in an interview with TNT Sports, stating that he still maintains the offer to the player.

RENEWAL AND POSSIBILITY OF PRE-CONTRACT

The attacker's situation is delicate. With less than six months left on his contract, Gabigol is free to negotiate with other clubs. However, Flamengo showed interest in keeping him, as they have done with other important players in the past, such as Filipe Luís and Bruno Henrique.

According to Landim, the club is not willing to offer a long contract in the past. current performance conditions of the player. “With the performance of 2023 and part of 2024, it is difficult to make a four-year proposal at the requested values”, stated the president, reinforcing that the one-year renewal proposal remains available and that it now depends on the player’s own decision.< /p>

TITE AND MERITOCRACY IN FLAMENGO

The president also addressed the reasons why Gabigol has not been a choice frequent in the starting lineup. According to Landim, the word "bet" used to describe the renewal proposal may have been strong, but it is justified by the attacker's performance in training. Coach Tite, known for his meritocracy, has opted for Bruno Henrique and Carlinhos due to their better performance in activities and games.

“Tite is a meritocrat par excellence. He chooses who is best in training and games to choose. This transparent process is one of the reasons why he is so respected by the team", concluded Landim.

Gonzalo Plata is already regularized by Flamengo< /a>. The name of the Ecuadorian player was included in the CBF's Daily Newsletter (BID) this Monday (02). Unlike Alex Sandro and Carlos Alcaraz, who were regularized last week, Plata still needed to resolve issues related to the work visa in order to be registered.

Now, with his name on the IDB, the attacker is preparing to do his debut for Flamengo. The expectation is that Gonzalo Plata will be available to coach Tite in the classic against Vasco, scheduled for September 15th (Sunday), in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. The game will take place at Maracanã, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).

FIFA DATE AND PREPARATION TIME

At the beginning of September, the FIFA Date takes place 2024, the period in which the teams return to the field. Brazil will face Ecuador on the 6th of September, at Couto Pereira, in Curitiba, and on the 10th, they will play against Paraguay, in Asunción.

With this, Gonzalo Plata will have enough time to prepare for his debut for Flamengo. It is worth mentioning that the number 45 started training last Saturday (31), one day after arriving in Rio de Janeiro.

REINFORCEMENT PACKAGE

With the signing of Gonzalo Plata, the Flamengo closed a package of four reinforcements in this transfer window. The club brought two attackers, a midfielder and a left-back. The first reinforcement was Michael, who, like Plata, also played in Arab football. Then, Rubro-Negro made official the arrival of full-back Alex Sandro, who had a crucial role in hiring the third reinforcement, Carlos Alcaraz.
