This Wednesday morning (20), Flamengo under - 20 faced Botafogo in the second game of the quarter-finals of the Copa Rio/ OPG under-20. After a 1-1 draw in the first half, Rubro Negro lost the penalty shootout by a score of 4-1 and ended up leaving the competition early.

In the 8th minute of the first half, Rubro Negro opened the scoring with a header from Pedro Estevam and remained with the advantage until the last minutes. After inattention from the defensive system, Botafogo tied 50 minutes into the second half. On penalties, Mais Querido wasted the second and third kicks and saw the rival team advance to the semi-finals of the competition.

Rubro Negro was missing a lot for the match and this influenced the team's performance. Of the starting team that beat Palmeiras in the final of the Brazilian Championship, only goalkeeper Dyogo Alves started playing this Wednesday's classic. Werton, Felipe Bryan and Rayan Lucas entered in the second half.

The other members of the starting team that beat Palmeiras were listed by coach Jorge Sampaoli so they could travel with the professional team. This is because the professional team is severely lacking due to injuries. A total of 10 Boys from the Nest were listed for this Wednesday's match (20).

Flamengo will face Goiás on Wednesday night (20), at 7pm, at the Serrinha Stadium, in Goiânia . Rubro Negro will not have the presence of defender Léo Pereira, midfielder Erick Pulgar, De Arrascaeta and Luiz Araújo. Mais Querido will face São Paulo next Sunday (24), in the return match of the Copa do Brasil final.
