Flamengo and Bahia face off again in the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil this Thursday (12), at 9:45 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The history of clashes at the stadium largely favors Rubro-Negro, since Bahia has not won Mais Querido at Maracanã since 1994.

This victory in 1994 was, in fact, the only one for Bahia in the entire retrospective of games at Maracanã against Flamengo. Therefore, based on this history, it is unlikely that Bahia will be able to reverse the result away from home, especially as Fla won the first leg 1-0 at Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova. A draw in the former Maior do Mundo guarantees Mengão's qualification for the semi-finals of the competition.

Bahia's triumph in 1994 occurred during the Brazilian Championship, with Flamengo selected by coach Carlinhos with: Gilmar; Gelson, Marçal, Rogers, Fabiano, Jura; Paulo Nunes, Charles Guerreiro, Hugo, Fábio Baiano; Serginho, Magno and Sávio. The goal in Bahia's 1-0 victory was scored by Zé Roberto.

Over the 15 clashes held at Maracanã, Flamengo presents clear dominance: there are 11 wins, one defeat (in 1994) and three draws, with Rubro-Negro scoring 35 goals and conceding just 10. Only one of these clashes was for the Copa do Brasil, in 2000, when the game ended in a 1-1 draw. This result guaranteed Mengo's classification due to their away victory in the first leg.

Last home defeat occurred in 2011, at Engenhão< /b>

If all games with Flamengo are counted, the last defeat against Bahia was in 2011, at Engenhão, when the Bahians won 3-1. Renato Abreu scored Mais Querido's goal, but Titi, Dodô and Souza guaranteed the victory for Bahia.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores. Follow the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. Check it out:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
