In a draw held at the CBF headquarters, it was decided that Flamengo will face Botafogo-PB , from Paraíba, in the third phase of the 2025 Copa do Brasil. With a large fan base in the northeast, the Mais Querido will not be able to receive all the support it expected at the Almeidão stadium. This is because the rival team will only make 10% of the tickets available to the red-blacks.
“ Exactly. The charge (of 10%) is maintained for them (Flamengo). We are waiting for our fans to fill the stadium ”, said the CEO of SAF Botafogo-PB, Alexandre Gallo, in an interview with 'Arena Correio'.
It is worth remembering that Botafogo-PB can only make 10% of its ticket sales available to visitors, as is permitted by the CBF's General Competition Regulations (RGC). Thus, the Mais Querido can practice the reciprocity policy in the return game, at Maracanã.
The CBF has not yet defined the dates of the matches, but the first leg, at Almeidão, will take place on April 30 or May 1. The return leg, at Maracanã, will be on the week of May 21. It is worth noting that Mais Querido will make its debut in the current edition of the Copa do Brasil, while Botafogo-PB started in the first phase.
Flamengo fans will therefore have a hard time getting tickets for the Copa do Brasil game in João Pessoa. According to a survey by Anova, published in early April, the state has more than 50% of Flamengo fans. Corinthians comes in second with 11.5%; and Palmeiras is third, with 8.7%.
