According to Boto, the logic of the method is simple: do not separate physical, tactical, technical and mental training. Instead, all these aspects are integrated into activities that simulate the game model adopted by the team. "All over Europe, we train like this. And fortunately Filipe also accepts this vision", highlighted the director, referring to the Portuguese coach Filipe Luís, who is in charge of the team.
The concept goes against the traditional training division. For example, instead of running without the ball or doing isolated physical exercises, Mais Querido athletes train strength and endurance in situations that occur during matches, such as marking under pressure and quick transitions. According to Boto, the secret is to reproduce in training the efforts that the athlete will make in the game, optimizing preparation in a more efficient way.
The same logic applies to speed training. For the director, doing loose sprints does not represent the reality of the game, as the intensity occurs at specific moments and in different contexts, such as a counterattack or a defensive recovery. The proposal of the coaching staff, then, is to train these actions within the game model itself, with real movements adjusted to the team's proposal.
With this model, the player tends to evolve physically as he participates in training and games. Boto explained that this gradual adaptation to the style of play eliminates the need to separate the squad into regular starters and reserves. “The more he plays, the more the athlete adapts to what he needs to do. And this allows for specific changes without losing quality,” he assessed.
“If in a week’s time the best 11 is someone else, then that’s the one that should play. There’s no point in having such a qualified squad if we’re going to use the same players in every match. The players need to compete internally to always be available to the coach,” the manager reinforced, giving hints of a more modern management philosophy.

The result forces the Rio de Janeiro club to seek qualification away from home, at Arena MRV. To advance directly, the team needs to win by at least two goals. If they achieve a simple victory, the spot will be decided on penalties. A draw favors Galo.
During the post-match press conference, coach Filipe Luís commented on the decision to maintain the starting defensive formation against the Minas Gerais opponent. He said the decision was made considering the complexity of the match and the physical strain on the players.
"I think defense is a delicate area. I don't like to change the back line; I try to change it as little as possible. Considering the wear and tear you mentioned, there's also the opponent. They're a team that causes us a lot of problems in the back line," said the Flamengo coach.

The score ended 0-0 after 90 minutes of balance and intense marking , keeping the dispute for a place in the semifinals of the competition open.
