Flamengo and Bragantino reached an agreement regarding the values in the early hours of this Friday. In a meeting that ended around 3am, an understanding was reached so that Rubro-Negro pay 8.5 million euros for the transfer. Léo Ortiz will sign a contract valid until December 2028.
Flamengo will pay 7 million euros in two installments, in addition to 1.5 million in the same currency for variables. A pending issue, however, still prevents Flamengo and Ortiz from officially celebrating the end of the prolonged negotiation.
Bragantino, based on a loophole in the National Regulation for the Registration and Transfer of Football Athletes (RNRTAF), wants the defender to participate in the two games against Botafogo in the last knockout phase of the pre-Libertadores.
NEGOTIATION BETWEEN FLAMENGO AND BRAGANTINO
Flamengo , Bragantino and Léo Ortiz were together until dawn. Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel represented the Cariocas, while Diego Cerri was the representative of the São Paulo, and Paulo Pitombeira defended Ortiz's interests.
Pitombeira was the one who managed to put Cerri, the Bragantino executive, at the negotiating table . Previously adamant about not selling the player to Brazilian rivals, the Bragança Paulista club was not willing to negotiate. The agent, aware of his client's desire to play for Flamengo, managed to close the deal and formalized that they would give up 25% of the rights in a future transfer.

Estudiantes is already in Rio de Janeiro for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Flamengo , scheduled for Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The Argentine team trained at Fluminense's facilities , preparing for the decisive duel.
Coach Eduardo Domínguez tested a more conservative formation, including an extra defensive midfielder in midfield, as a strategy to contain Flamengo's attacks. According to Radio Província 1270 in La Plata, the change could result in only one striker on the field , demonstrating a more solid defensive posture.
Estudiantes ' likely lineup for the clash includes: Muslera; Gómez, Nuñez, Rodríguez, Arzamendia; Ascacibar, Piovi, Amondarain, Medina, Tiago Palacios; Carrillo.
