After Flamengo's victory over Bolívar in the Libertadores, the club's football vice-president, Marcos Braz, expressed concern about the stoppage announced by the CBF for rounds 7 and 8 of the Brasileirão.
The director fears that Rubro-Negro will suffer from the absence of athletes called up for their teams during this period and made a brief list of the request that Mais Querido had made previously.
"We expected the CBF meeting on the 27th, but this determination was made. I hope that Flamengo will not have any more games on Data Fifa. For example, we will play against Vasco on Saturday with all the available squad. I don't want to talk about Grêmio, in the other round, as it is a different situation for obvious reasons. At first, it was 9 games. 14 games in which Flamengo would play without four or five players", said Braz.
The CBF has not yet defined new dates for the postponed games. In the case of Flamengo, the clashes would be against Vasco and Grêmio. There is the possibility that they will be rescheduled for the next FIFA Date, from June 3rd to 11th.
Since the end of last year, Flamengo management has criticized the Brazilian football calendar, especially due to the lack of stoppage of the Brasileirão during the Copa América, which will take place from June 20th to July 14th.

Flamengo's dream of winning the Club World Cup has come to an end . On Sunday (29), the team was defeated by Bayern Munich (GER) by 4 to 2 and said goodbye to the competition. Despite the red-black elimination, the tournament continues with the round of 16, and this Monday (30), it is Fluminense's turn to enter the field .
Monday's first clash marks the last round of 16 game with a Brazilian club. At the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, Fluminense takes on Inter Milan starting at 4 p.m. (Brasília time).
Later, at 10pm (Brasília time), Manchester City will face Al-Hilal at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The matches are knockout: in the event of a draw in regular time, there will be extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout.
Today's clashes will also serve to define one of the quarter-final duels. The winners of Fluminense vs. Inter Milan and Manchester City vs. Al-Hilal will face each other in the next phase of the competition organized by FIFA .
Flamengo fought until the end, but could not overcome Bayern Munich . In a game played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the Rubro-Negro was defeated 4-2. The Germans' goals were scored by Pulgar (own goal), Harry Kane (2) and Goretzka. Gerson and Jorginho (penalty) scored for the team led by Filipe Luís. With the result, Bayern advanced to the quarterfinals, where Palmeiras and Chelsea are also already in the round.
With Gerson's goal against Bayern, Rubro-Negro reaches 19 goals in the tournament and leads the ranking among Brazilians; the game broke audience records in Rio

Flamengo ended its participation in the Club World Cup with an important milestone for Brazilian football. Despite the 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the round of 16, the goal scored by Gerson guaranteed the Rubro-Negro the position of Brazilian club with the most goals in the history of the tournament, totaling 19 goals in nine games played.
The historic feat surpasses Santos, which until then was the leader of the ranking with 18 goals in seven matches, most of them in the 1962 and 1963 campaigns, led by Pelé. Now, Flamengo leads this ranking that considers all editions of the tournament, from 1960 to the current FIFA format.
Although Santos still maintains the best average of goals per game (2.6), Flamengo's 19 goals demonstrate the team's offensive consistency in its recent participations in the World Cup. There were nine matches played, divided between the 1981, 2019, 2022 and now, in 2025 editions.
With the evolution of the tournament and the more frequent presence of Brazilian clubs in recent decades, Flamengo has become one of the protagonists of this new scenario. The Rubro-Negro's offensive consistency, even against European opponents, has helped to consolidate the club as an international reference.
Gerson's goal against Bayern was more than just a consolation in the elimination. It represented Flamengo 's 19th goal in the history of the competition and sealed the club's lead in this category among Brazilians. Even in a difficult game, against one of the strongest teams in Europe, Flamengo managed to leave its mark on the scoreboard and in the history books.
See the updated ranking:
Flamengo 19 (goals) 9 games
Saints 18 ( G ) 7 ( J )
Sao Paulo 9 ( G ) 4 ( J )
Corinthians 8 ( G ) 6 ( J )
Vasco 8 ( G ) 5 ( J )
The good work has caught the attention of Europe and is starting to cause concern for the future; for this reason, the red-black leader is already talking about extending the contract.

Flamengo seems to have finally found a coach. Filipe Luís is doing an excellent job leading the team, but his contract runs until December 2025. Therefore, Mengão needs to keep an eye on the coach, who is highly sought after in the Old Continent.
Boto on renewing with Filipe Luís: "We have been talking about it calmly"
The good work is attracting attention in Europe and is starting to cause concern for the future. In an interview with 'ge', José Boto spoke about the talks for renewal . He reveals that they are happening, but without much rush on either side.
"You don't know (laughs). We've been talking about it calmly. It's not my way of being or Filipe's to be anxious about this kind of thing. Because during this whole period we've done things that are more important than his renewal and that he puts above his personal matters. But it's something we have to talk about calmly" , he says.
The problem is that Filipe Luís also doesn't want to stay at Flamengo forever. That's why the Rubro-Negro team needs to keep an eye on the situation, since the former player also spoke about his dream of working in Europe. The former full-back preaches a lot of respect for Flamengo, but doesn't hide the fact that his real intention is to train in Europe. In an interview with the newspaper Marca, he admits that he wants to return to what he called the 'highest level' of football.
"Yes, without a doubt. My goal is to one day return to Europe, to the highest level of football. But I have a huge commitment to the players and to Flamengo. We are working hard and we are very happy," he says.
However, he also explains to the newspaper that he is very committed to Flamengo.
"Well, I have a clear idea of how my team should play and how I want to see my players on the field. What the game model is like... I have all of that very clear, and how I can work to achieve that. Now, the goal for the future is that I am very happy here at the club where I retired. At the club that gave me the opportunity to be a coach. It is a responsibility and, at the moment, we are doing well, working very hard" , he concludes.
