Forward Bruno Henrique, who scored the goal that secured Mengão's advantage in the first clash of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil against Bahia, is confident for the return match, scheduled for this Thursday (12), at 9:45 pm, at Maracanã. In an interview, the player highlighted the importance of the red and black fans in the decisive duel and used the title won by the club in 2022 as a reference for the squad's motivation.
Bruno Henrique, who was a key player in the victory by 1-0 at Arena Fonte Nova, called on Mengão fans to come out in force at Maracanã and have a big party. The striker highlighted the group's dedication in seeking to qualify for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil.
“I hope that the fans can attend, support us, help us, have a great party and, in the end, everyone celebrate the classification. On the field, we will do our best”, said the striker.
With the victory away from home, CRF arrives with an advantage for the second leg, but Bruno Henrique warned of the need to maintain concentration. Bahia, in turn, needs to win by a goal difference to take the decision to penalties. If they achieve a victory by two or more goals difference, Esquadrão de Aço will advance directly to the semi-finals of the competition.

Red-and-black striker is the target of speculation in the transfer market

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season.
