Bruno Henrique had to play as a center forward for Flamengo in the last two games. Pedro and Gabigol suffered thigh muscle injuries in the first leg of the Libertadores round of 16 and were left out of the squad. The number 27, who prefers to play on the left side, revealed how he felt playing as a '9' after coach Tite's request.
“It's not really my job, right, to play as a 9. But I am prepared to help wherever I may. When Professor Tite came to talk to me along with Mateus, that I would be moved to play this new role on the field, I tried my best to help the team in some way”, said the attacker in an interview with FlaTV.
Despite not being used to the role, Bruno Henrique scored the only goal of the game against Bahia and gave Flamengo victory in the Copa do Brasil. Thus, Mais Querido has the advantage to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament, as the match will be decided at home, at Maracanã, on September 12th, Thursday, after the FIFA Date.

First, however, Flamengo will face Corinthians this Sunday (1), in the Brasileirão. In the match, Bruno Henrique should not act as a center forward as Mengão's authentic and current number 9, Pedro, has recovered from a muscle injury in his right thigh and is on Rubro-Negro's list of related players for the Brazilian Championship duel.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. Bruno Henrique, a player who will be a key player for Flamengo in this final stretch of the season due to Pedro's injury, expressed his sadness over his teammate's situation and revealed his desire to "make up" for the support he received from the number 9 in 2022 .
“I hope I can do this, like Pedro did in 2022, when I was away. He was the king of America, he led Flamengo to titles, a very important player, not only on the field, but also outside”, commented Bruno Henrique.
In an interview with ESPN, Bruno Henrique commented on the serious injury de Pedro, highlighting that this type of injury is one of the most feared by professional athletes. He also mentioned that he hopes to repay the attitude of the number 9, who was one of the team's pillars during his absence last year, when he spent a large part of the season away. Now, the situation is reversed, and BH takes on the role of replacing the center forward.
“This injury (ACL) is what every player fears. It's Pedro's second, and faced with a fatality, in training, injuring his knee. It's difficult to understand, right, but we have to accept it”, lamented BH.
