Flamengo took firm measures against Corinthians due to a debt of 8 million reais related to the purchase of full-back Matheuzinho . According to information from the Paparazzo Rubro-Negro channel, Mengão contacted the sports marketing company Brax, responsible for the advertising boards for the games at Maracanã and Neo Química Arena, to block the amounts owed to the São Paulo club.
The request was met, and Brax blocked Corinthians' cash flow as a form of punishment for failing to pay the third installment for signing the player. The company acted as a mediator in this process, after being notified by Flamengo.
CORITHIANS' DEBT TO FLAMENGO
Corinthians' debt with Mais Querido is related to the third installment, which has already been delayed for two months. In addition to this installment of 8 million, the Itaquera club still owes two others, worth 2.5 million reais each, scheduled for the months of August 2025 and 2026. In total, Corinthians owes around 13 million reais to Flamengo for the purchase of Matheuzinho.
The situation generated indignation in the red and black board, especially after Corinthians made high-value signings, such as the recent arrival of Depay, while the debt with the CRF remains open .
MONEY BLOCKED UNTIL 2025
Despite the blockade carried out by Brax, Corinthians no longer has receivables from marketing company for this year. Therefore, the blocked value will only be redirected to Flamengofrom 2025, when Brax has new payments to make to the São Paulo club.
“Corinthians no longer has receivables with Brax for 2024, but the company has already informed that in 2025 the amounts will be transferred to Flamengo”, stated Paparazzo Rubro-Negro on his channel.
With this blockade, Flamengo awaits payment of the debt, while Corinthians remains under pressure for maintaining millionaire signings without honoring financial commitments with the Rio club.
