Flamengo loaned goalkeeper Hugo Souza to Corinthians until the end of this year. As part of the agreement, a clause was stipulated that requires the payment of a fine of R$500,000 if the São Paulo team wants to use the player in matches against Rubro-Negro.
Last Thursday (29), Itaquera's team made the payment to Flamengo to guarantee the presence of the archer in the clash this Sunday (1st), in a match valid for the Brasileirão, which will take place at Neo Química Arena.
In addition to the fine, the loan contract includes a clause that allows Corinthians to acquire Hugo Souza permanently at the end of the year. To do this, the São Paulo club will have to pay 800 thousand euros (approximately R$4.7 million). The expectation is that, due to the goalkeeper's good performances, Corinthians will complete the purchase at the end of the season.
Hugo Souza returned to Flamengo in the middle of the year after a spell in Portugal. Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.
The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.
According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.
