Flamengo is at the center of a dispute over the purchase of the Gasometer land, involving Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) and the City of Rio de Janeiro. In an exclusive conversation with Rodrigo Dunshee, legal and general vice-president of Flamengo and pre-candidate for the club's presidency with the journalist Gabriel Reis (Paparazzo RN), it was clarified that Flamengo never intended to pay the R$250 million for the land, as some speculation suggested.

Dunshee stated that the maximum amount the club would be willing to pay is R$146 million. "Our intention has always been to pay 146 million, at most. To arrive at this value, we used the reference price requested by CEF itself for the square meter in the Gentileza Terminal process. There, they asked for R$ 2 thousand per square meter, while City Hall paid R$ 1,500. In other words, we offered more than City Hall paid for the same land", he explained. The mathematics used by Flamengo is clear. The Gasometer site, with its 88 thousand square meters, multiplied by the value of R$2,000 per square meter, it would result in R$176 million. However, this amount must be reduced by 17% due to the jurisdiction of the Union, reaching the R$ 146 million mentioned by Dunshee.
