Sunday was magical for Flamengo fans across Brazil. This is because the club won its fifth Brazilian Cup in history, beating Atlético-MG again, this time by 1-0 (Plata's goal) in Belo Horizonte. Adding to this, the team led by coach Filipe Luís was the first champion of Arena MRV.

With the title, Flamengo ends the Copa do Brasil, increases the club's revenue from the prize pool and guarantees place in the next Libertadores in 2025. However, the Brazilian Championship still remains. The red-black team is in fourth place, with 58 points and very little chance of winning the title. 

Fla's next opponent will again be Atlético-mg. This time the match will be at Maracanã, for the national championship. The duel takes place next Wednesday, at 8pm.
