This Saturday, the MorumBIS stadium will be the stage for a long-awaited clash between São Paulo and Flamengo, valid for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship 2024, starting at 9:30 pm. According to information released by the club on social media, more than 52 thousand tickets have already been sold for the match.
The expectation is that the audience for this game could break the season's attendance record at MorumBIS, which currently stands at 56,162 fans, recorded in São Paulo's 2-0 victory against Talleres, in the Copa Libertadores , on May 29th.
FLAMENGO MOMENT
THE Mengãoarrives at the clash enjoying a great moment in the season, with four consecutive victories, three in the Brazilian Championship and one in the Copa do Brasil, the latter against Palmeiras. However, in order to preserve his players for the return match against Palmeiras in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, coach Tite decided to take a very modified team to Morumbi.
FLAMENGO'S ALTERNATIVE LINEUP
For the game against São Paulo, Tite chose to select an alternative team due to the absences of Nicolás de la Cruz and Everton Cebolinha, who are in the medical department, in addition to strikers Luiz Araújo and Pedro, suspended for accumulating yellow cards. Therefore, Flamengo will have several changes compared to the last clash against Palmeiras.

Paulo César Zanovelli's refereeing generated complaints after the 1-1 draw between Flamengo and Grêmio, this Sunday (31), at Maracanã. Leaving the field, Samuel Lino stated that the conduct of the match favored the team from Rio Grande do Sul and disrupted the rhythm of Mais Querido.
" In the Flamengo games I've played so far, the refereeing has been very good; I have nothing to say or complain about. It was fair in the games we played. I think today it really slowed down the game, slowed things down a lot. This benefited Grêmio more than us. We were playing at home, with our own rhythm, with strong marking. A little foul here, another here. But what can you do? There's no point in talking now. There's no point in sitting here complaining," the forward emphasized.

Despite the 1-1 draw between Flamengo and Grêmio at the Maracanã in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão, Samuel Lino had a special reason to celebrate. The striker was called up to the Brazilian national team for the first time , following the injury of Manchester United's Matheus Cunha.
" When I got the news, I was very happy. I was surprised, because I wasn't expecting it. I want to make the most of it; I'm expecting it to be a great time, and I'll learn a lot, " the player declared after the match.
Samuel Lino 's call-up was due to Matheus Cunha's injury, which meant he would miss the next few matches. Coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to opt for the Mais Querido forward , who will have a chance to play for the national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia.
On the field, the match ended in a draw. The Rio de Janeiro team's goal was scored by Arrascaeta, following an assist from Pedro . The Rio Grande do Sul team equalized late on with a penalty kick converted by goalkeeper Thiago Volpi after a deflected ball hit Ayrton Lucas's arm.

Following the 1-1 draw with Grêmio in the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship , football director José Boto responded to questions about potential reinforcements for the Mais Querido. According to the director, the club is satisfied with the squad assembled so far and is unlikely to make any further moves in the transfer market.
" The window is still open, until the 2nd. We don't have any plans to bring anyone else, but you never know because the market is volatile; an opportunity, a good deal, might arise. But, in principle, it's closed. I don't even think we have... in Portugal we say that too much water kills the plant, and I think we have enough water," declared José Boto at the Maracanã.
During this window, the club had already made significant moves, securing the arrival of defensive midfielder Jorginho, midfielder Saúl Ñíguez, forward Samuel Lino, midfielder Jorge Carrascal, and right-back Emerson Royal. Prior to this, striker Juninho had been announced as a reinforcement earlier in the year.
