Last Saturday (1), Vini Jr won his second Champions League title with Real Madrid, scoring the winning goal for the Merengue team and being the best on the field. After winning yet another trophy, Flamengo's Cria changed his look before introducing himself to the Brazilian team.

One of the biggest attractions of the Brazilian team, Vini Jr arrived in Orlando this Wednesday (5) , where Canarinho prepares for the Copa América. With black dreadlocks with white details, the eternal Garoto do Ninho aims to win the tournament and his first title with Amarelinha.

Decisive for Real Madrid, Vinícius Júnior wants to make history for the Brazilian team, and he is the key to Dorival Júnior's team, also ex-Flamengo. The athlete even praised the squad assembled by the coach and planned great achievements for Canarinho.

“I haven't been champion yet, I don't have any title with the national team, I hope it's now. We are preparing very well for this moment. The generation is very strong to achieve great things with the Seleção”, said Vini Jr.

The arrival of Vinícius and the other two Real Madrid players, Rodrygo and Éder Militão, left the Amarelinha squad complete. Before their Copa América debut, however, the Brazilian team has two friendlies to play: against Mexico and the United States.

Brazil will face Mexico on June 8, at the Kyle Field Stadium, in Texas, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time). The match against the United States is scheduled for June 12th, at the Camping World Stadium, in Orlando, at 8pm.

The Copa América effectively starts on June 20th, and the first match official match of the Brazilian team will be against Costa Rica, on June 24th, in the first round of the continental competition. The ball will roll at SoFi Stadium, at 10pm (Brasília time). Canarinho begins the journey in search of the title that it hasn't won since 2019, when it beat Peru, 3-1.

The Flamengo adopts a cautious stance in negotiating the football market and, unlike previous years, does not intend to make exorbitant financial investments to make up for shortages. The current management, led by president Rodolfo Landim, has already allocated more than R$329 million to signings this season, making it the second year with the highest spending since 2019, when the club spent R$360.9 million on reinforcements. Even with the large number of signings, the club still faces difficulties in balancing its finances due to low revenue from player sales.

In contrast to the high amount spent on reinforcements, Flamengo isstay experiencing the worst year in terms of athlete sales since Rodolfo Landim assumed the presidency. Transfers made so far total just R$71.4 million, a value that frustrates the board's expectations. Furthermore, important negotiations that could represent a significant improvement in the club's accounts, such as the sales of Wesley and Fabrício Bruno, ended up not materializing.

FLAMENGO ADOPTS CAUTION IN TIME OF CRISIS

This disparity between spending on reinforcements and the return obtained from sales reflects a market policy that, at the moment, has not generated the expected financial results. Despite attempts to negotiate players and alleviate the wage bill, Flamengo continues without major progress in the field of athlete transfers. The lack of success in sales directly affects the club's financial planning, which is looking for alternatives to deal with the high costs of maintaining a competitive squad without compromising its financial health.

The 2023 scenario contrasts sharply with the situation experienced in 2019, when Flamengo achieved a balance between expenses and revenue, driven by notable sales and strategic signings that led the team to important achievements. However, the current season presents an additional challenge: finding solutions to address shortages in the squad without further compromising the club's budget.

The lack of success in sales has directly impacted Flamengo's finances, which already had faced difficulties in closing the financial statement at the beginning of the year. With the lack of resources from the transfer of athletes, the board is forced to rethink its market strategy, avoiding signings at any cost and looking for more viable alternatives to strengthen the squad.

The presence of Bruno Henrique could be the key for Flamengo to overcome difficulties in the final stretch of the 2024 season. The team, under the command of coach Tite, remains active in all competitions, but lost Pedro, the team's top scorer. Brazil in the year, which shook confidence in the offensive sector. Gabigol and Carlinhos, immediate replacements for the center forward position, have not yet demonstrated the necessary security to maintain the goalscoring pace that the team needs.

Bruno Henrique, who has shone brightly in other moments for Flamengo, especially in the 2019 campaign under the command of Jorge Jesus, could be the solution to the problems in attack. He was tested by Tite as a center forward in some matches, but ended up losing space in the starting lineup. However, his versatility opens up an important possibility of resuming his role as number 9, something that Flamengo director Bruno Spindel recently highlighted at a press conference. Spindel mentioned that Bruno Henrique is a viable option for the position, expanding the possibilities for tactical adjustments in the team.

CAN THE KING OF AMERICA SAVE FLAMENGO?

< Bruno Henrique's performance as a center forward proved to be relevant in crucial moments, such as in the recent 1-0 victory against Bahia, in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The player, known for his decision-making ability in classics, scored the winning goal with a header, showing that, even out of his original position, he can still be decisive for the team. This result gives Flamengo an important advantage in the return match, which will take place on September 12th.

Bruno Henrique's story on Flamengoalready has remarkable passages, the most brilliant being in 2019, when under the command of Jorge Jesus, he experienced his peak with the red-black shirt. At that time, although he officially played as a left winger, his role on the field was much more dynamic. With Gabigol occupying a more advanced position in the attack, Bruno's movement was essential to create scoring opportunities. Gabigol dropped back to help with creation, often collaborating with Everton Ribeiro on the right, while Bruno Henrique took advantage of the spaces in the area to finish the plays.
