Last Saturday (25) Flamengo and Botafogo faced each other in the first leg of the semi-final of the Copa Rio under-17 and Mais Querido won by the score of 5 to 2. Therefore, there is a great chance of Rubro-Negro facing Vasco in the grand final, as Cruzmaltino beat Nova Iguaçu 3-1.

The second leg of the semi-finals is scheduled for June 1st. Rubro-Negro visits Botafogo and could lose by up to two goals to advance to the final. Vasco also plays away from home, but in Baixada Fluminense, against Nova Iguaçu. However, Cruzmaltino can only lose by one goal.

FLAMENGO X VASCO RETROSPECT

In 2021, Mais Querido won the Copa Rio U-17. In 2022, it was Cruzmaltino who lifted the trophy. Finally, in 2023, Rubro-Negro won the competition again. Highlighting that the two teams qualified for the semi-final having the two worst campaigns.

FILIPE LUÍS SEEKS FIRST FINAL UNDER FLAMENGO

Flamengo coach, Filipe Luís seeks to qualify for his first final under the command of Rubro-Negro. This is because Mais Querido won in the group stage, round of 16 and quarterfinals in the Adidas Generation Cup, but was defeated by the Philadelphia Union and eliminated.

Thus, Mais Querido's new coach will try to lead his team for the first final of the season. The next game will be on June 1st, at 3pm, at CEFAT, against Botafogo.
