This last Saturday (8), coach Ramon Menezes brought together the Brazilian under-20 team for a training game against Botafogo, after a week of training at Granja Comary, the CBF concentration in Teresópolis. The Brazilian team beat the black and white team 7-0, with three goals from Flamengo athletes.

The week of training for the Brazilian under-20 team between June 3 and 8 was the beginning of the team's preparation for the South American Championship category, in January 2025, in Peru. This is because Ramon Menezes was unable to qualify Brazil for the Paris Olympics, which are now taking place in July and August.

In the game this past Saturday (8), Brazil had no difficulty in beating Botafogo under-20. The 7-0 victory was built on three goals from Flamengo players. Lorran scored twice and defender Iago scored the third. Both athletes plus Rayan Lucas have already returned to Mais Querido.

EXPECTATION FOR THE TITLE

With the absences of Arrascaeta and De La Cruz, as they are with the Uruguay team for the dispute of the Copa América, there is an expectation that Lorran will be a starter in Rubro-Negro's next match. This is because Ninho's son had already replaced the Uruguayans in previous games.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

So, with Lorran available, the Flamengo squad continues to prepare for the next clash, against Grêmio, in the eighth round of the Brasileirão. Mais Querido returns to the field next Thursday (13th), at 8pm, at Maracanã.

After Mário Jorge left for Saudi Arabia, Flamengo decided that Filipe Luís, Mais Querido's under-17 coach, will lead the under-20 team. Thus, the new commander of the red and black under-17 team will be Eduardo Zuma, a former assistant at Santoa, São Paulo, Vasco and Cerro Porteño (PAR).

According to information from journalist Guilherme, known as FlaZoeiro, Zuma will be hired at Mais Querido's under-17s after the Copa Rio final between Flamengo x Vasco, this Monday (17). The ball rolls at 3pm.

EDUARDO ZUMA'S CAREER

Before Filipe Luís took over the Under-17, Zuma was in charge of Garotos do Ninho. However, with the arrival of the former player, the then coach of the category went down to the under-16s. With Filipe's ascension, Eduardo returned to the position he already held.

In addition to Rubro-Negro, Eduardo Zuma was a technical assistant for the professional team of Cerro Porteño (PAR), São Paulo, Vasco and Saints. On Paraguayan soil, he worked alongside Gavilán, from August until November 2023. On the other hand, at Santos, he was Fernando Diniz's assistant in 2021, even leading the professional team on an interim basis.

FOCUS IN THE NEXT GAME

Before Zuma takes over the under-17s again, the Boys of the Ninho will have a final. Mais Querido returns to the field this Monday afternoon (17), in the second leg of the final against Vasco, in the Copa Rio category. Filipe Luís could win his first title as coach of Rubro-Negro. The match will start at 3pm.

The friendly between Brazil and the United States, held last night, ended with an unprecedented and worrying draw for the Brazilian team. For the first time in the history of the confrontation, the two countries were unable to come from scratch. The game, which should have been an opportunity for the Brazilian team to show evolution and integration, ended up highlighting collective problems and, unfortunately, highlighted striker Vinícius Júnior negatively.

From the opening whistle, Brazilseemed out of tune. The lack of creativity in midfield and defensive failures made it clear that the team still needs adjustments. However, instead of a broader analysis of the collective performance, the criticism focused disproportionately on Vinícius Júnior.

VINICIUS JUNIOR IS CHARGED

The first half was marked by a truncated game without great emotions. Both teams had difficulty creating clear scoring opportunities. The Brazilian team, known for its offensive and creative football, performed below expectations. The players seemed disconnected, and the lack of chemistry was visible.

Vinícius Júnior, who has been one of the great promises of Brazilian football, had difficulty standing out. Without consistent support from midfield, the young striker was isolated up front and had little chance to showcase his talent. Even so, it was the target of much criticism.
