The Red-Black Under-19 team shone in its debut at the 2023 Mladen Ramljak Tournament. Playing this Wednesday, in the city of Zagreb, Croatia, Flamengo won 3-1 against Rapid Vienna from Austria. Pedro Estevam, at 24 minutes of the first half, Shola and Welinton (from midfield), at 4 and 24 minutes of the second, scored for Mengão.

This Friday (4), Mais Querido will return to the field for group B, to face Brugge from Belgium. This year's Memorial Mladen Ramljak tournament features the participation of elite European football clubs such as Manchester United, along with traditional teams: Feyenoord from the Netherlands, Monaco from France and Dynamo Zagreb (the hosts). b>Table - group B:

Flamengo faced Fluminense in the first leg of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, on the afternoon of this Thursday (19), and drew 1-1. Joshua, with a header, scored the red-black equalizer, which dominated the match. match but started behind on the scoreboard. Fluminense opened the score in the 17th minute. Flamengo tried to respond with Douglas Telles, who dribbled twice and hit the goalkeeper's hands from outside the area.

The Under-17 Boys from the Nest return to the field this Thursday (19), at 3pm, to face Fluminense in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The match will be played in Gávea and will be broadcast live on SporTV.

Led by coach Eduardo Zuma, the red-black team arrives at the clash after winning four victories in the last five games. In the final round of the first phase, Mengão beat Corinthians 5-0, securing third place in group A, with 15 points. There were five wins in nine games and 19 goals scored, the second best attack in the group.


IMPORTANCE OF THE VICTORY IN THE FIRST GAME

Midfielder Lucas Vieira highlighted the relevance of the result in the first match of the quarterfinals. "Important game. I think it's always good to come away with a victory in the first game, especially at home. And try to make history by winning the Brazilian Under-17 Championship", said Vieira about the decisive classic.


RECENT RETROSPECT BETWEEN THE TEAMS

In 2024, Flamengo and Fluminense faced each other only once. The duel took place in the first phase of the Copa Rio, when Mengão beat their rival 3-0 in Xerém. In that match, Douglas Telles scored two goals, while Pablo scored a great free kick from midfield. Now, the teams meet again in the Under-17 Brasileirão, with qualification for the semifinals at stake.

The Garotos do Ninho travel this Monday (30/10) to Camaragibe, in Pernambuco, where they compete in the 2nd Atlantic Cup, with the aim of winning yet another title for Mengão's youth football team, which has already lifted cups in all categories in 2023. There are 26 achievements in total, currently. The competition is Under-19 and Rubro-negro is in Group B with Vitória-BA, Novorizontino-SP and Clube Atlético do Porto-PE.

The team led by Leonardo Cherede debuts against Novorizontino, at 10 am, on Wednesday Monday (01/11). The second game of Garotos do Ninho will be on Thursday (02/11), at 10am, against Clube Atlético do Porto, and the last game of the group stage will be between Flamengo and Vitória, on Friday (03/11), also at same time as previous days. The two best clubs in the group advance to the Gold Series, which must meet the teams from Group D in the quarterfinals. Check out those listed for the competition:

In the knockout phase, if the tie persists, the game will be decided on penalties. In 2022, Flamengo won the Silver Series after beating Retrô on penalties. The competition will be played between November 1st and 6th.
