The match between Vitória and Flamengo, scheduled for this Wednesday and valid for the last round of the first round of the Brazilian Championship, will mark the return of David Luiz to Barradão after 17 years. Red and black profit

Vitória pocketed just R$1.9 million when it loaned and sold David Luiz to Benfica in 2007. But he continued to profit from the defender because of FIFA's Solidarity Mechanism. The instrument has been in force since 2001 and was created to reward the investment made by clubs in training athletes.

The training period takes place between the ages of 12 and 23, and the club is entitled to 5% of future international negotiations, with the amount being proportional to the athlete's time with the team. In the case of David Luiz, the six years he spent at Toca do Leão are worth it.

São Paulo announced this Tuesday the signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio. The 24-year-old player, who belongs to Lazio, from Italy, was also in Flamengo's sights, but chose to join Tricolor Paulista. He arrives on a one-year loan, valid until June 30, 2025.

In his first statements as a São Paulo player, Marcos Antônio expressed great enthusiasm: “It’s a moment of great joy and happiness, a different feeling. I'm happy with the opportunity to play for São Paulo and I hope to help my new teammates. We're going to play together with our fans to achieve the club's goals," the midfielder told the club's official website.



NEGOTIATION DETAILS

For the loan, São Paulo will pay 150 thousand euros (approximately R$906 thousand). The contract includes a mandatory buyout clause if the player participates in 50% of the games during the loan period, with a minimum of 45 minutes played in each match.

If this condition is met, the purchase price is set at 4.2 million euros (around R$25.3 million), which will be paid in installments over the three seasons of the contract, from the middle of 2025 to mid-2027.



ALISSON REPLACEMENT

Marcos Antônio was on loan to PAOK, from Greece, before agreeing with São Paulo. He arrives to replace Alisson, who fractured his right ankle last Wednesday and had to undergo surgery. Revealed by Athletico-PR, Marcos Antônio built a successful career in Europe, and now returns to Brazil to reinforce the tricolor midfield.
