The 2019 generation is very close to the end in Flamengo. With Gabigol about to say goodbye to the club, Gerson and Arrascaeta are the only representatives of the Libertadores champion team. Even though they were marked in history, several of them saw their relationship deteriorate with the board in the final stretch.

Only those who retired left without a soap opera. Diego Alves' case was practically the same as Gabigol's. Bruno Spindel and the player's agents reached an agreement, with a counter-proposal accepted. But the values also clashed with President Rodolfo Landim. The driving irritated the athlete's side.

Rafinha's departure was also turbulent. In addition to friction in the relationship in the final stretch, the way the player negotiated with Olympiacos (GRE) did not please the board. A year later, he decided to return to Brazil, Braz and Spindel made a proposal, he made a counter-proposal and again the business ended up in Landim's hands.

With Everton Ribeiro and Rodrigo Caio there was no agreement. The defender was already thinking about leaving due to the lack of space and understanding that the cycle had ended. The club didn't even offer a new contract as it would wait until the end of the year to do so. With the former number 7 shirt, Fla took a while to actually start negotiations and was irreducible until the end. The long waiting time was irritating and the midfielder transferred to Bahia.

Bruno Henrique was the only one to renew, but it took a while to reach an agreement. This stance of uncertainty brought other clubs closer together — such as Palmeiras — and generated wear and tear, but the weight of identification was greater.

From the starting team in that Libertadores final, Diego Ribas and Filipe Luís retired. The former full-back is now an employee of the club and trains the under-20s. The former midfielder will be an ambassador for a school project in the United States. Pablo Marí, Willian Arão and Gerson were sold, but the "Joker" later returned.

Even with Jorge Jesus, the end was delicate, but on the coach's part. After renewing and putting together the plan for 2020, he decided to leave Flamengo, who did not like the way the situation was handled. There were several moments when the relationship could be resumed, but the circumstances and Landim's feelings towards him made the process difficult.

Problems aside, friendship remains

< All of them, eventually, maintained a good relationship with Flamengo. Whether with some board members, players or employees. Despite the problems, they are well received whenever they meet the red and black. Most of them won a game as a farewell to the fans and Gabigol now also hopes to be honored, even in front of the scene.

In an interview, the player spoke about the moment, the goal and the mourning due to the recent death of his mother.

"(I would say) he is a winner. I'm a guy who never gave up. I lost my mother a few years ago. 15 days, I'm still grieving. It's been difficult, but I have to continue. As I always think, she dressed me in her armor. When she saw that I was ready, she left. me to say this. I know that she is in the arms of the Lord, and that is what comforts me. I want to tell (to Carlinhos at the beginning of the year) that I arrived here due to God's merit and my work", said Carlinhos, at half-time.

Carlinhos made his debut in the first round of the Brasileirão, against Atlético-GO, and then again had the opportunity as a starter against Palmeiras. The striker spent just 45 minutes on the field at Allianz. Carlinhos only played again against Juventude, but only spent four minutes on the field.

The chance to start against Atlético-MG came due to the physical exhaustion of Pedro, who is going through a sequence of games. Carlinhos scored the goal in the 24th minute after a play by Luiz Araújo and Wesley. The full-back shot, but the ball hit the post, and the number 22, well positioned, put it into the back of the net.
