Flamengo faces Cruzeiro this Wednesday (6), at 9pm, at the Independência Stadium, in Belo Horizonte, in a match valid for the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship. Mengão needs to guarantee victory to get closer to the leaders and remain in the G4.

Focusing on preparing for the final of the Brazilian Cup, Flamengo informed that five athletes will not travel to Belo Horizonte. Gabi, Arrascaeta, Gerson, Léo Ortiz and Wesley will remain at CT Ninho do Urubu for treatment in the medical department. The club's decision aims to preserve the physical conditioning of the players, who are fundamental players in the dispute against Atlético-MG.

PROBABLE SQUAD FOR FLAMENGO

A likely lineup for the clash at Independência features Rossi; Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Ayrton Lucas; Pulgar, Everton Araújo and Alcaraz; Bruno Henrique, Michael and Plata.

CHALLENGE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOCUS ON THE BRAZILIAN CUP FINAL

This Tuesday (5), coach Filipe Luís led the last training session before the match to adjust Mengão's lineup. Pulgar and Bruno Henrique are fit and have a chance of joining the starting team, while other athletes can be spared.

The game against Cruzeiro is an important challenge for CRF in the Brazilian Championship, but the main objective of the squad is winning the fifth Brazilian Cup championship. The decision against Atlético-MG, scheduled for next Sunday, puts Rubro-Negro in search of another national title.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti is back in the country after two months and is already preparing to announce his second squad for the Brazilian national team on the 25th. Twenty-three players will be called up for the final rounds of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Brazil secured its spot in the World Cup by beating Paraguay in June.

In the first call-up under his command, the coach included five athletes who defended Flamengo: Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Ortiz, Wesley and Gerson , the last two of whom left the club in the last transfer window.

TECHNICIAN FOLLOWS CLOSELY

During his time away from Brazil, Ancelotti met with the director of national teams, Rodrigo Caetano, and the technical manager, Juan, in the United States. The meeting took place on July 13th, while he was watching the Club World Cup final between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

FLAMENGO SEEKS ADVANTAGE

Ancelotti's return coincides with a crucial night at Maracanã. Mengão faces Internacional in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16, seeking a positive result to comfortably travel to Rio Grande do Sul for the return leg.

Next Sunday (17), Flamengo will face Internacional again , but this time for the Brazilian Championship . Soon after, the return match on the day (20), for the most important competition in South America.

Flamengo is ready to face Internacional this Wednesday (13), at Maracanã , for the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Coach Filipe Luís confirmed the entry of Luiz Araújo in place of Arrascaeta, who is suspended, and promoted the return of Jorginho to the starting lineup.

Without the Uruguayan number 10, the red-black team will take to the field with: Rossi; Royal, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Jorginho, Allan; Luiz Araújo, Plata, Samuel Lino and Bruno Henrique.

The main new addition is Jorginho, who returns after serving a suspension in the Brasileirão victory over Mirassol. Arrascaeta, on the other hand, is out due to an accumulation of yellow cards in the continental competition.

FLAMENGO HAS THREE ABSENCES

In addition to Arrascaeta, Flamengo will be without Erick Pulgar (right foot surgery), De La Cruz (left knee injury), and Danilo (right thigh injury). The final roster could still be surprising, as Filipe Luís has opted for strategic cuts due to the excess players on the roster.

SCHEDULE, BROADCAST AND DETAILS

The match between Flamengo and Internacional is scheduled for 9:30 pm (Brasília time), with live broadcast on Rede Globo, on open TV, and on Disney+, via streaming. The return duel takes place next Wednesday (20), at Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre.

Flamengo's own stadium project gained direct participation from Companhia Carioca de Parcerias e Investimentos (CCPAR) in the preliminary agreement signed between the club, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, and Caixa Econômica Federal. Specializing in concessions and partnerships, the municipal public company will be responsible for investing R$29.2 million, approximately 15% of the R$199.6 million earmarked for the Gasômetro land acquisition.

The amount will be allocated as financial compensation to Caixa, the former owner of the space through the Porto Maravilha Real Estate Investment Fund , which was expropriated by the City for the auction that resulted in Flamengo 's purchase. This information is from GE.

Flamengo will receive the majority of the amount: R$170 million . This amount includes the R$138 million already paid in the 2023 auction, plus R$7.9 million for the judicial investigation, and an additional R$23.6 million, which will be paid in five installments.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

Despite progress in negotiations, the project still faces obstacles. Removing the gas pipelines and clearing the land remain the responsibility of the City Hall . Governor Cláudio Castro assured the website 'MundoBola Flamengo' that the municipality is committed to these steps.

CLUB POSITION

At Flamengo, the topic is being treated cautiously. The Deliberative Council is preparing to discuss ways to secure the necessary resources without compromising the institution's financial health . Contrary to what had been reported, the topic of the new stadium did not come up at the last CoDe meeting.
