This week, Flamengo scheduled a meeting with striker Bruno Henrique's agents to discuss pending issues regarding the renewal of the contract with the Mais Querido idol. According to Coluna do Fla's commentator, Túlio Rodrigues believes that the Rubro Negro board missed the ideal moment to close the contract extension and is now "hostage" to the player.

“Flamengo became a hostage in the hands of Bruno Henrique. The striker can sign a pre-contract for free. Imagine if the board doesn't renew it? The fans are on Bruno Henrique's side. He's an idol. And I've always said here that Bruno Henrique's importance in the club's history is undervalued , people still don't give due value to all these achievements", said Tulio, in 'Opinião' last Wednesday (04).

Tulio also evaluated Bruno Henrique's performance at 32 years old after returning from injury. He sees the player as one of the main athletes of the current Rubro Negro squad and even compared the renewal of the Mais Querido idol with other teammates at the club.

"The management 'ate flies', because he doesn't have the advanced age like Everton Ribeiro, like Diego Ribas, Diego Alves, which was when the board did that annual renewal. Today, a 32-year-old athlete can perform, can extend his career for a long time [...] Flamengo hung themselves so much that became hostage to the player", added the commentator.

Bruno Henrique's agents and Flamengo differ in relation to salary terms and contract length. The club intends to renew the contract with the player for another two seasons, however, the athlete's staff wants another three years. In order to reach an agreement, Rubro Negro and the number 27's manager have a meeting scheduled for this Saturday (07), in São Paulo.

Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.

The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.

According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.

Eduardo Paes guarantees that the removal is the responsibility of Rio's city hall.

Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.

“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.

Flamengo agreed to renew its contract with Bruno Henrique in the last quarter of this year, but the official agreement has not yet been made public. This is because the club is discussing internally whether the extension of the contract should be announced on social media.

The Coluna do Fla report found that Bruno Henrique's renewal “has already been announced (internally), but without major formalities”, as revealed by a source from the red-black board. In this way, Flamengo analyzes behind the scenes whether or not it will announce the extension of the contract for another three years, as there is a fear on the part of Rubro-Negro of criticism and negative repercussions.

Bruno Henrique had a contract with Flamengo until December 31st of this year, but after a long and turbulent negotiation, the new contract is valid until the end of 2026. Mengo wanted to increase the partnership until the end of 2024, but the staff thought differently and wanted another three years.

Therefore, signing for another three seasons divides opinions among red and black fans.

About to turn 33 this Saturday (30), Bruno Henrique will stay at Flamengo until he is 36 Precisely because he is in his thirties, some of the red and black fans criticize the board for the length of the new contract. Therefore, it is precisely this negative expression on social media that the club is afraid of announcing the agreement on the internet.
