Flamengo remains attentive to the ball market and is eyeing the signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio, from Lazio. The player, who played for PAOK in the 2023-24 season, also received surveys from Botafogo and São Paulo. Rubro-Negro's interest adds yet another dispute over the signing of the Brazilian athlete.
According to information from Julio Miguel Neto, Botafogo and São Paulo offered contracts along the same lines as Flamengo for Marcos Antônio. The two teams approached Lazio to try to enter the fight for the player. Competition between Brazilian clubs promises to be intense in the coming weeks.
Marcos Antônio, however, has already made it clear that his desire is to play for Flamengo and has not even opened negotiations with Botafogo and São Paulo. He is currently in Brazil, spending holidays in Bahia. If negotiations with Flamengo do not materialize by next week, the midfielder will return to Italy for pre-season with Lazio.
Initially, the Lazio accepted the agreement along the lines proposed by Flamengo. However, in recent days, the Italian club made new demands, delaying negotiations. Lazio now wants Flamengo to buy the athlete, which made the negotiation a little more complicated.
Flamengo is trying to sign a loan with an obligation to buy based on goals achieved by the player. The negotiation values are still being discussed, but Flamengo's board is confident that the terms will not be outside the club's standards. Conversations continue, with the expectation of a positive outcome for Rubro-Negro.

Flamengo faces Peñarol next Thursday, in the return of the Libertadores quarter-finals. The match will be in Uruguay, at the Campeón del Siglo stadium and in order to take care of its fans, Fla issued a note sending recommendations to the red and blacks who go to the neighboring country to watch the match.

"Recommendations from the Peñarol Security Commission and the National Police of Uruguay to Flamengo fans who will travel to watch the match against the Uruguayan club, this Thursday (26):

Many players dream of defending the Sacred Mantle, just as many coaches wish to receive an opportunity to coach Flamengo. In an interview, coach Geninho, Brazilian champion with Athletico-PR in 2001, said that he still needs to lead Mais Querido before he can complete his career.
In participation in the program "Mesa Redonda", on TV Gazeta, Geninho answered some quick questions. When asked about "a club he would like to coach, but didn't", the coach immediately responded: Flamengo.
Even though he didn't manage Mais Querido, the 76-year-old coach had the opportunity to command a great idol of Rubro-Negro. In the same joke, he answered who was the best player he led. The coach replied: Petkovic. The two worked together in 1998, at Vitória and also in 2004, at Vasco, and 2008, at Atlético-MG.
Beyond of the Brasileirão with Athletico-PR, in 2001, Geninho also won a Campeonato Paulista with Corinthians, in 2003. The coach also won two state championships in Rio Grande do Norte, a Pernambucano, a Catarinense and a Copa do Nordeste.
Geninho is currently without a club and has not worked since 2022, when he was in charge of Vitória. In addition to Vasco, the coach also commanded Botafogo. In São Paulo, he played for Corinthians and Santos and in Minas Gerais, he managed Atlético-MG. He spent a large part of his career on teams in the Northeast, Central-West and Santa Catarina.
