Basketball and football had to share the spotlight at Maracanã on Thursday. Flamengo lost the NBB title to Franca on the court before beating Grêmio on the field in a "double round". In the audience, fans who were divided by the tight and complicated schedule. Why this schedule?

Flamengo did, indeed, have the desire to do a double round. This has happened other times with matches of both sports at the complex. The regulation would not allow for better adaptation. The club tried to move the football game to 9:30 pm, but the minimum interval of 66 hours between two matches would not be respected until the duel against Athletico-PR next Sunday.

What the game would be like on TV Globo, there was nothing to do. Regarding basketball, the dates had already been announced almost a month ago. In other words, before the CBF rescheduled some game dates after the championship was suspended.

The rescheduling even influenced the schedules at Maracanãzinho. In game 1 and game 5, the time was necessarily chosen in the morning thanks to Fluminense's matches at night. Fla understands that 5pm would be ideal, but there was no such possibility. There will, however, be no need for a fifth match.

What happened

More than 4,200 tickets were sold in advance. The total load available was 6,000. Maracanãzinho was not crowded. The gym only filled up after the break. Games that start at 6pm have great difficulty for the public to arrive early. Until the beginning of the third quarter, some red and black people were still accessing the place while several were already on the outskirts of the stadium to watch the football.

The basketball game ended just three minutes before the football kickoff. Some people gave up watching the end to be able to reach the Maracanã stands more calmly. The report spoke to red and black people who said they were planning for this movement.

Franca had no fans mobilized to go to the gym. The delegation also did not receive a special security scheme despite the scenario. The Military Police assured UOL that it accompanies "all visiting delegations in games of greater magnitude".

The PM reported having prepared a "differentiated" security scheme for the matches. "Teams from the Specialized Stadium Policing Battalion (BEPE), with the support of police officers from the Dog Action Battalion (BAC), the Cavalry Regiment and other units, will be mobilized to guarantee security throughout the sports square," said the official note.

This is not the first time that the club has published something against the articles by Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper O Globo

Flamengo released a statement on Monday night (23) refuting the news published by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper ‘O Globo’, about a supposed new muscle problem for striker Gabigol. According to the club, the information is false and Gabigol is training normally with the rest of the team, and is even involved in the game against Peñarol (URU) in the Libertadores.

Now, in the early afternoon of this Tuesday, Flamengo released another note, once again clarifying what for the club, is yet another false news from the journalist from the newspaper "O Globo". This time Diogo Dantas' article refers to Fla's supposed interest in Luís Castro, former Botafogo coach who was in Saudi Arabia.

The club's note follows in full:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo is appalled by the stance of journalist Diogo Dantas, from Jornal O Globo. Subsequently, he publishes lying articles involving the institution's professionals, clearly without no type of critical sense and with freedom from superiors.

Incredibly, he repeated the pattern a few hours after an official note addressing yet another of his daily fake news and without any type of warning in a vehicle of such size relevance.

We clarify that coach Luís Castro has never spoken to any Rubro-Negro manager and even less is the subject of “changing coaches for 2025” on the agenda. Such a scenario does not exist and once again disrespects everyone. the professionals and family members involved in the day-to-day life of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.

We warn our fans to avoid using vehicles responsible for false articles on a daily basis. We are in favor of press freedom, but we cannot tolerate the lack of commitment to the truth and the targeted attacks promoted by the journalist.

Finally, we regret that Jornal O Globo, a traditional outlet that already had so many good responsible journalists in relevant positions, today we highlight a professional who fails to tell the truth on a daily basis and does not suffer any type of consequence. "
