0The second leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil between Flamengo and Bahia, scheduled for 9:45 pm at Maracanã, pits two teams at different times in the championship. While Flamengo tries to resume its recent good performance, Bahia is going through a recovery phase. The clash promises to be disputed, with both teams seeking to qualify for the next stage of the tournament.
Flamengo is coming off a sequence of inconsistent results. In the last five games, Rubro-Negro accumulated two wins and three defeats. This negative record is evidenced by the 8 goals conceded and only 5 goals scored. The defense, which was once a strong point of the team, has shown vulnerabilities, while the attack has not been as efficient as expected, especially in decisive moments.
On the other hand, Bahia arrives for the clash with three wins, one draw and two defeats in the last five games. The Bahian team scored the same 5 goals as Flamengo, but stood out for conceding fewer goals, just 3, which indicates a more solid defense. Salvador's team seems to have found a defensive balance that could be decisive in facing Flamengo away from home.

With two defeats in the last five matches, the Rio team needs to quickly correct the defensive errors that have compromised the team's performance. Furthermore, the attack, which was once Flamengo's main weapon, has not shown the same efficiency.

Red-and-black striker is the target of speculation in the transfer market
|
0This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season. The information of possible interest, therefore, was directly denied by Tricolor's directors.
Even so, the attacker remains one of the most targeted names in the transfer market for 2025, as he is in the final stretch of contract with Flamengoand you can now sign a pre-contract with any other team.
With Bahia's denial, Corinthians remains the main favorite to sign Gabigol from next year. The possibility of the red-black striker wearing the Timão shirt gains strength, especially after coach Tite appointed Gabigol as the third option for Mengão's attacking command, behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique.
