Last Monday (24), the city hall of Rio de Janeiro published in the official gazette the decree expropriating the Gasometer land. Now, Flamengo's Deliberative Council (CoDe) will vote on the financial plan for the construction of its own stadium.
According to information from Uol Esporte, Flamengo's board of directors will take to the Deliberative Council the request for authorization to participate in the auction to purchase the Gasometer land. There, Mais Querido plans to build the club's own stadium.
It is worth mentioning that there is support from the main currents for the project. However, on the other hand, there are also doubts about financial details. Therefore, the Flamengo board intends to present the financial viability plan for the construction of the stadium to CoDe.
In fact, there is already a study ready on the subject. It is worth mentioning that the land for Gasometer belonged to a real estate fund managed by Caixa Econômica Federal. However, the property will now go to auction with conditions such as the construction of a stadium.
THE STADIUMFirst of all, it is worth highlighting that the project Flamengo expects the stadium to be the largest in Brazil. This is because the idea is that the venue will have capacity for around 80 thousand fans. Furthermore, the Gasometer region is in the center of Rio, in front of the “Terminal Gentileza”.

Flamengo and Lazio advanced in negotiations to sign midfielder Marcos Antônio. The player, who has already accepted the Rio club's offer, should be signed on loan with an obligation to buy if certain goals are achieved. However, there are still disagreements regarding the triggers and final values of the operation, according to information from the GE website.
It is agreed that Flamengo will pay an amount for the one-year loan, which will be deducted if the club opts to definitively purchase the player. . The figures for the definitive purchase are being discussed, with expectations of values between 5 and 6 million euros, in addition to bonuses.
The main divergence between the clubs is in the clause that obliges Flamengo to buy the player if he participates in 50% of the games during the loan period. Flamengo and Lazio are still debating what the definition of participation in games will be: whether it will only count appearance, ownership, or the number of minutes played (45 or 90 minutes on the field).
Flamengo prefers that the purchase trigger be related to ownership or the condition of the player playing for 90 minutes. If the goal is not met, the purchase option will be the choice of the Rio club. Despite the impasse, Flamengo is confident that it will find a satisfactory agreement with Lazio and will have Marcos Antônio as a reinforcement in the next transfer window.
Marcos Antônio, 24 years old, is a creation of Athletico-PR's youth teams and a contemporary of Vini Jr in the youth teams. The midfielder has spent time at Estoril, in Portugal, and Shakhtar Donetsk, in Ukraine. He was bought by Lazio in 2023 and loaned to PAOK, from Greece, last season, where he was national champion.

Flamengo, one of the most traditional and popular clubs in Brazil, has just taken another important step in its marketing and sponsorship strategy. This Monday (17), The club's Deliberative Council approved, with 140 votes in favor and just three against, the renewal of the sponsorship contract with Assist Card. The new agreement is valid until December 2026 and will bring a significant increase in the club's revenue.
From 2025, Flamengo will receive R$10.8 million annually from the Assist Card, an amount that before it was R$8.5 million. This amount will be paid monthly, with the company disbursing R$900,000 per month. Furthermore, the contract provides for the possibility of adjustment in 2026 based on the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA), which could further increase the amount received by the club.
MILLION CONTRACT FOR FLAMENGO
According to Coluna do Fla, with this new agreement, the expectation is that Flamengo receive at least R$ 21.5 million from the Assist Card in two years. Despite the increase in sponsorship value, the brand will continue to occupy the same space on Flamengo's shirt, in the lower back bar, just below the number.
This is not the only significant adjustment to Flamengo's sponsorship contracts recently. At the end of May, Pixbet, the club's master sponsor, also substantially increased its funding. The value, which was R$85 million, will rise to R$105 million in 2024 and to R$115 million in 2025. If the automatic renewal of the contract is confirmed, Flamengo will receive R$125 million in both 2026 and 2027 .
