Flamengo under-20 scored two consecutive victories in the Brasileirão Under-20 and is recovering from a bad start. After a week of training, the Garotos do Ninho visit Atlético-MG this Thursday (16), at 9:30 pm, and defender João Victor Souza shows confidence after good preparation and minimizes the away game in the search for three more points.

“We know the difficulty of the match. It's a very important game to be able to continue fighting for the top of the table. There isn't much interference when it comes to playing away from home, we are prepared. We had an excellent week. And now it’s time to do well so we can gain three more points and continue fighting in the championship”, said the jewel of the red and black base.

Youngest under-20 player, aged 17 in January, João Souza was a starter in Flamengo's two consecutive victories, against Santos and Cruzeiro. The defender is considered a jewel of the youth categories, and the tendency is for coach Mario Jorge to keep the young man in the starting 11 against Atlético-MG.

Flamengo occupies eighth place in the Brasileirão U20 with nine points, the result of three wins and two defeats. A victory against the team from Minas Gerais, in 12th place, could see Rubro-Negro climb up to four positions and finish the round in the G4. Remembering that the top eight qualify after 19 rounds, and better placement guarantees a command and crossing advantage against worse placed teams.

Mario Jorge does not have midfielders Rayan Lucas and Fabiano for this Thursday's clash, both of whom are suspended . There are names that could play for the under-20s, but are available to professionals: Lorran, Matheus Gonçalves* and Dyogo Alves.

Now, the Garotos do Ninho return to Gávea again where they will host Athletico-PR , 14th place in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. In the two games that the team from Paraná played, they beat Internacional and lost to Santos.
