Led by coach Eduardo Zuma, the red-black team arrives at the clash after winning four victories in the last five games. In the final round of the first phase, Mengão beat Corinthians 5-0, securing third place in group A, with 15 points. There were five wins in nine games and 19 goals scored, the second best attack in the group.
Midfielder Lucas Vieira highlighted the relevance of the result in the first match of the quarterfinals. "Important game.
