Flamengo entered the decisive phase of the season, with important games in sight. One of the most crucial commitments is the clash against Peñarol (URU), next Thursday (26), for the Libertadores da América. To motivate the squad, organized fans planned a demonstration of support at CT Ninho do Urubu, scheduled for this Sunday (22).

Anderson Macula, president of Torcida Organizada "Raça Rubro-Negra", announced on the networks social events that fans will gather in front of Ninho do Urubu at 7:30 am (Brasília time). According to the leader, the objective is to offer moral support to players before decisive duels. The meeting will take place this Sunday, as on Monday (23) the members of the fans will travel to Uruguay.

“Speak, Nação Rubro-Negra. Tomorrow is the day of unconditional support. Raça Rubro-Negra and our sisters will be at 7:30 am at Ninho to support our group that will go to Uruguay on Thursday to bring the classification. Our bus is already rented. We will leave Rio on Monday night. We will never abandon. We will be together to bring the classification. Together, we are stronger”, said Anderson, in a post on Instagram.

This Sunday (22), Flamengo faces Grêmio in the Brazilian Championship, but, with an eye on the decision against Peñarol, the technical committee opted to spare the starters. Thus, the main players remained in Rio de Janeiro to train at CT Ninho do Urubu during the morning, while the alternative team traveled to Porto Alegre.

With the support of the fans, Flamengo focuses on reversing the negative result suffered in the first game against Peñarol, when they lost 1-0 at Maracanã. To advance to the semifinals, Rubro-Negro needs to win in Uruguay by two or more goals difference. If the score is 1-0, the place will be decided on penalties. Coach Tite continues to be the target of questions in command of Flamengo, with part of the fans calling for his departure and suggesting the promotion of Filipe Luís. However, the club is not considering the rise of the former player at this time, despite the team's unstable phase. Thus, the decision is that Filipe will continue to lead the under-20 team.

According to information from the newspaper "O Globo", people close to Filipe Luís believe that he does not feel prepared to take command of the team main now. The former player closely monitors the situation in the dressing room and understands that the drop in performance of the team, which competes in three competitions simultaneously, is understandable.

Among the reasons that weigh against the possibility of Filipe Luís taking over Flamengo are the high number of injuries in the squad and the lack of time to get to know the players you haven't worked with yet. Filipe considers that this phase of the season would not be ideal to start his career as a coach with the first team.

Another relevant point is that, currently, Filipe Luís does not have the necessary license to coach the professional team. To do so, the under-20 coach would need a certificate from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), essential to take charge of Flamengo.

Flamengo faces serious injury problems this season. Matías Viña, Everton Cebolinha and Pedro are out until 2024, while Michael and Gabigol continue to undergo treatment in the medical department, with no expected return in the next games.

Despite the difficulties, Flamengo continues to compete on three fronts: it is in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil, in the quarterfinals of the Libertadores — after losing the first game against Peñarol (URU ) — and occupies fourth place in the Brazilian Championship.
