Giorgian De Arrascaeta was voted the best player in the Brasileirão in April, in a vote held by sports journalists from different regions of the country. The Flamengo midfielder scored six goals in the first seven rounds of the competition and currently leads the scoring charts . The Uruguayan player did not play in the championship's opening match against Internacional, but made an immediate impact from his first match.
Arrascaeta made his debut in the second round, in the match against Vitória, in Salvador, where he scored one of the goals in the 2-1 victory. The Rio de Janeiro team is in third place in Group C and is looking for a victory to get closer to the qualification zone for the round of 16.
After the international commitment, Flamengo will return to play in the Brazilian Championship on Saturday (10), at 9 pm, at Maracanã , against Bahia. With De Arrascaeta in good form, the team will try to maintain its good offensive performance also on the national scene.
