Midfielder Everton Ribeiro received several inquiries from clubs interested in signing him, as his contract with Flamengo is close to ending. One of the teams interested in signing him was Fluminense, as the rival's president is passionate about football for the number 7.
Participating in the podcast "Charla Podcast", Mário Bittencourt, president of Fluminense commented on Everton Ribeiro . He explained where the speculation came from that the Rio rival would be interested in signing the Flamengo midfielder, who has a contract until the end of the year.
“The word from people was as follows: I went to a television program before the semi-final and there was a quiz to choose a player from each rival that you would like to have at Fluminense'. At Flamengo, I said Everton Ribeiro”, he said.
Mário then praised Everton Ribeiro and stated that, if Flamengo does not renew, he will try to sign the 34-year-old player. It is worth remembering that the negotiation to renew the contract with the midfielder is blocked, as the player wants a raise and two more seasons.

Last Sunday night (5), Botafogo and Bahia faced each other at the Nilton Santos stadium in the fifth round of the Brasileirão and the Bahian team beat Flamengo's rival. After the match, a video of Totói, son of former Flamengo player Everton Ribeiro, went viral on social media.
In the video in question, Totói appears singing the famous song that Flamengo fans use to make fun of Botafoguenses, who are considered as the "crying team": “and no one can shut up this crying person, the president is crying, the whole team is crying, the fans are crying.”
