Announced as a signing for Fenerbahçe (Turkey) in 2022, Wilian Arão is leaving the club and could return to Brazilian football. According to journalist Hasan Can Aksu, there are interests of Arab clubs in the midfielder, but the player's representatives are already negotiating with Brazilian clubs.
As the clubs under negotiation have not yet been disclosed, there is a possibility that Arão will return to wear the red-black cloak. The defensive midfielder was announced as a reinforcement for Flamengo in 2015 and played 377 games for Mengão. During these clashes, he scored 35 goals and won 10 titles, including two Brazilians, two Super Cups, one Recopa Sudamericana, four Cariocas and one Libertadores.
Before going to Fenerbahçe, the steering wheel vented about the complexity of the decision.
“It wasn't that it was difficult, but it wasn't easy either. I had to sit down with my wife and go over the pros and cons. But it has always been a dream of mine to play in Europe, to live that experience. I had been at Flamengo for a long time, I had already won almost everything. But it wasn't easy because I knew that this year the club would be close to winning more cups”, he reported in an interview with GE.
Finally, Arão was traded for 3 million euros, correspondent to more than BRL 15.5 million at the current price. With his departure from the Turkish club, the probability of the midfielder returning to Brazilian football is great. There is no information that confirms or denies Flamengo as one of the player's options.
