DEFENSE ON THE HIGH! FLAMENGO'S MAIN TEAM HAS NOT CONCEIVED A GOAL YET IN 2024

Flamengo and Amazonas face each other this Wednesday (22), at 9:30 pm, at Arena da Amazônia, for the return of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. The only sector in which the coach really managed to rest the starters was the attack, which only had Matheus Serafim in the starting lineup against Paysandu. If councilors give a positive signal to the project, Vasco will be able to sell it on the market to use, necessarily, in the renovation of its stadium. In the case of Flamengo, mayor Eduardo Paes proposed two possibilities of constructive potential: one for Caixa Econômica Federal and another for the Flemish headquarters in Gávea.

In relation to Caixa, the mechanism would be for its land in the Gasologista region, in the Center (RJ). With this, the state bank could raise funds in other parts of the city and make the region cheaper for Rubro-Negro, which wants to build its stadium there.

However, the possibility has become more concrete It's for the Gávea headquarters. The money raised would have to be used to build the stadium. A meeting to discuss the issue took place on April 15th between the red-black president, Rodolfo Landim, and the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes.

Flamengo, however, still encounters resistance from Caixa. The club and the state bank did not reach a common denominator on the issue of values ​​and the purchase of land in Gasometer. In any case, having the constructive potential in hand is already a big step, and the possible approval of the mechanism for Vasco is an indication that the same should happen with Rubro-Negro.

In the Brazilian Championship, the club's trajectory is also impressive. With six titles over 48 years, the average of one win every eight years has been largely surpassed in the last five years, in which Flamengo became champions twice.

The hegemony of the Flamengo in the Carioca Championship was also highlighted by Landim. The club played in six consecutive finals, an unprecedented mark in the history of the competition. Furthermore, the performance in recent seasons stands out, with four titles won.

In terms of frequency of titles, Landim compared Flamengo's recent performance with the team's history since its foundation in 1912. Until 2018 , the club had won 34 Rio titles, an average of approximately one title every three years. However, in recent years, Flamengo has won two titles every three years, indicating a significant improvement in performance.
