DEFINED! FLAMENGO SETS TARGET AS TOP PRIORITY

Flamengo returns to the field this Wednesday (20) to face Internacional, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. The ball rolls at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Beira-Rio. In the first leg, played at Maracanã, Rubro-Negro won 1-0 , with a goal from Bruno Henrique, and now plays for a draw to advance to the quarterfinals.

TEAMS MOMENT

In their last five matches in the continental competition, Flamengo has three wins and two draws. Internacional, meanwhile, has two wins, two losses, and one draw. The teams are coming off two consecutive head-to-head matches , one in the Libertadores and the other in the Brasileirão, and Internacional won both, 1-0 and 3-1, respectively.

CONMEBOL announced that Uruguayan referee Esteban Ostojich will officiate. He is one of the most experienced referees in the organization, having already been involved in decisive Libertadores matches , and will officiate another important duel in South American football.

The Rio de Janeiro team, currently the sole leader of the Brasileirão , now turns its attention to the continental tournament. With the advantage of a draw, the goal is to secure a spot in the quarterfinals and continue its quest for a fourth Libertadores title. In the group stage, the club finished second in Group C with 11 points , the same score as leaders LDU. In seven matches, they recorded four wins, two draws, and one loss.
