This player rotation approach reflects a growing trend in modern football

0In a press conference, coach Tite expressed concern about the team's tight schedule Flamengo, highlighting the high number of matches the team has faced. To preserve the physical integrity of the athletes and avoid injuries, Tite chose to select the reserve team for the next match.
According to the coach, the decision aims to keep the team competitive in the long term, ensuring that the players are in ideal conditions to the most important competitions. "We have a very tight schedule, and the number of games can overload the athletes. We need to make strategic decisions to protect the health of our players and maintain the team's performance", explained Tite.
FLAMENGO HAS NEW MOMENTUM IN THE COMPETITION
This approach has been adopted in several clubs that compete in multiple competitions simultaneously, where squad management becomes crucial to the success of the season. The player rotation strategy is not new and has shown effectiveness in keeping the main team rested for decisive games.
The Flamengo, one of the main clubs in Brazil, faces a marathon of games due to participation in several competitions, including the Brazilian Championship, the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores. This scenario requires careful planning on the part of the coaching staff to avoid player fatigue and wear and tear.

CBF adjusted the mid-year transfer window, in 2024, with the European calendar, a long-standing request from the clubs.

0The CBF responded to a long-standing request from Brazilian clubs and made adjustments to the 2024 transfer window, with the aim of aligning the dates with the main European leagues, allowing for a period of transactions in the middle of the year, between July and September . This change was crucial so that Brazilian clubs would have the opportunity to sign foreign players while European teams were at the start of the season and had their transfer windows open.
The big news for the Brazilian scene is equality in the number of weeks in the two transfer window periods in 2024, both lasting eight weeks. This represents a significant change compared to previous years, in which the first period was extended to 12 weeks, while the second lasted just four weeks, totaling the 16 week limit stipulated by FIFA regulations for negotiations.
The dates of the transfer window in Brazil for 2024 were defined as follows:
For clubs Brazilians, who follow the calendar from January to December, in contrast to the European calendar from July to May, the first transfer window period occurred at the beginning of the year, between January and April. This created significant obstacles for Brazilian teams wishing to sign foreign players during this period, as foreign leagues were already in full swing.
The second period of the window in Brazil, which ran from early July to The beginning of August ended a month before the end of the European window, resulting in Brazilian players leaving for clubs abroad, without the opportunity for replacement, as the national window was closed. It is worth noting that players without a contract can still be signed at any time, regardless of whether their last team was from a foreign country. It is only necessary to respect the registration closing dates established in the regulations for national and continental competitions.
In September, the CBF proposed to FIFA different dates for the transfer window in 2024, as previously announced. The first, 12-week window was scheduled to run from January 15 to April 4, while the second, four weeks, from July 2 to August 1, following a similar pattern to 2023. However, after request from some Brazilian clubs to align the dates with the calendar of European powers, the CBF consulted FIFA and obtained authorization to divide the 16 weeks of the window into two of eight weeks each, instead of one of 12 weeks and another of four. This represents an important achievement for Brazilian football.
The CBF recently released the calendar for 2024, announcing the start of the State Championships on January 21st, while Série A will begin on April 14th. The football season in Brazil will end on December 8, providing clubs with a schedule more in line with international standards, which should improve teams' negotiation and planning capacity.
