Coach Tite was called up for a crucial mission in October 2023: leading the Flamengo to the Libertadores group stage, when the club was at risk of being left out of the continental competition. The goal was achieved, and now, last Tuesday, the coach began the second stage of this journey: the search for Eternal Glory.

After seven years away from the competition, Tite experienced a mix of emotions when debut for Flamengo in the Libertadores. His last clash in the competition dates back to 2016, when he managed Corinthians. Now, in his ninth appearance in the Libertadores, Tite faces familiar and technical challenges with Rubro-Negro.

FLAMENGO DID NOT HAVE A GOOD PERFORMANCE UNDER HIS COMMAND

The opening game against Millonarios resulted in a bitter draw, amid adverse weather conditions at El Campín, in Bogotá, Colombia. As the rain fell, Tite remained impassive on the edge of the field, a figure of concentration and guidance.

In the technical area, Tite displayed his characteristic posture, with his hand on his chin and his discerning gaze. Unlike previous games, where assistants Matheus Bachi and Cléber Xavier played more active roles, Tite opted for a more solitary role, observing carefully and intervening when necessary.

During the match, Matheus Bachi assumed the role of intermediary between the coach and the players, especially in set pieces, while Cléber Xavier remained focused on his notes throughout the 90 minutes. Tite, in turn, found gaps to interact with the players, providing precise instructions and constant support.

Mirassol will make just one change to the starting lineup to face Flamengo this Saturday (09), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship. Leão defends a three-month unbeaten run in the match, while Mengão seeks to remain in the lead.

After serving a suspension in the victory over Vasco, left-back Reinaldo returns to the team, taking Felipe Jonatan's place . Leão's top scorer in the Brasileirão, the number 6 has seven goals in the competition and is the team's official penalty taker.

PROBABLE LINEUP

Mirassol's likely lineup is : Walter; Lucas Ramon, João Victor, Jemmes and Reinaldo; Neto Moura, Danielzinho and Gabriel; Negueba, Edson Carioca and Chico da Costa.

IMPORTANT DEFAULT IN THE BANK

The main absence will be coach Rafael Guanaes , suspended for a third yellow card . Without the manager, assistant Ivan Baitello will be on the sidelines for the club's debut at Maracanã. Guanaes' team hasn't been defeated since May 5th, when they lost to Red Bull Bragantino.

In the medical department, defender Da Silva is out, although he didn't play for the team in 2024—his last appearance was for the B team last season. On the other hand, defender Luiz Otávio, a regular starter in 2024, left the medical department but hasn't yet played this year due to successive injuries.

Leão is in 5th place in the Brasileirão, with 28 points, and is looking to score points to remain in the G6. If they beat Flamengo this Saturday and Bahia stumbles against Fluminense, Mirassol will finish the round in the G4 , those who qualify directly for the group stage of the Libertadores.
