Marcos Braz, Flamengo's vice-president of football, will leave Mais Querido at the end of the season. The manager has been at Rubro-Negro since the beginning of the Landim administration. During his time at the club, one issue marked Mengo's most troubled moment in history: the tragic accident with the ten Garotos do Ninho. In an interview with CNN, the VP couldn't contain his tears when talking about the topic.

"I'm even crying because I stayed so long without talking about this topic. It was very difficult, I don't know if there was a mistake or if there wasn't a mistake. What can I say if I don't know if it could have been a little more or less humanized, but Flamengo tried to be correct. with everyone", said the leader, before continuing:

"There weren't just the 10 children who died, there were more people in this process. Everyone had their adjustments, maybe it wasn't what I expected. of professional football, I saw that tragedy from my side. I was one of the first people to arrive", concluded Braz, in an interview with CNN.

TRAGEDY IN THE URUBU'S NEST

Five years ago, on February 8, 2019 , Flamengo fans received the tragic news that ten Garotos do Ninho had died after a container caught fire in CT Ninho do Urubu. They are: Athila Paixão, Arthur Vinícius; Bernardo Pisetta, Christian Esmério, Gedson Santos, Jorge Eduardo Santos, Pablo Henrique and Rykelmo, Samuel and Vitor Isaías.

Until now No one was held accountable by justice and the case of the families of the Garotos do Ninho are still waiting to be judged by the court.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

The Argentine stressed that he keeps his feet on the ground and that his main goal is to continue showing consistency for the Rubro-Negro , who have the best defense in the Brasileirão, conceding only 10 goals in 22 games. At Maracanã, the Mais Querido conceded only three goals.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.

Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.
