On the afternoon of this Friday (12), the fourth reinforcement of Flamengo was officially presented this season: striker Carlinhos. On the occasion, Marcos Braz, vice-president of football at Mais Querido, explained the process for signing the player.
"I think it is important to make clear the player's professionalism, the conduct of his manager, Flamengo's stance We exclusively accelerated the signing of the player before the state championship finals for a simple fact. There were other clubs that were interested in Carlinhos, there were other proposals that now those clubs that couldn't sign him will deny it, they will say no. it was true, but it existed", he said, before continuing:

"So we immediately started, when we understood that it could have the risk of losing Carlinhos to the other club, we immediately started negotiations and we finished, we finished well and that's all that happened. Player, we didn't have any contact with the player, we didn't. No contact with him in the finals, only with the businessman who dealt with his rights and with the president of Nova Iguaçu, we did this in a clear, correct and transparent way", he concluded.

After being announced by Flamengo last Monday (8), Carlinhos participated in the activities led by Tite along with the rest of the Flamengo squad. Therefore, the attacker is ready to debut, but the decision will come from Mais Querido's coach.
EXPECTATION FOR DEBUT
Carlinhos was unable to play for Rubro-Negro last Wednesday (10), as he was not registered with the IDB and for having arrived at Mais Querido after the registration period for athletes in the Libertadores group stage.
In this way, the player is hoping to be able to play for Rubro Negro this Sunday (14), in the debut of the team in the Brazilian Championship. Flamengo faces Atlético GO, at 4pm, at the Serra Dourada Stadium.

The Brasileirão will be suspended for the FIFA World Cup. Mengão's next match will be on September 14th, against Juventude at the Alfredo Jaconi stadium. Their opponents are currently in 17th place, but are riding high after a victory over Ceará and are looking for a comeback to escape the relegation zone.

Despite the 1-1 draw between Flamengo and Grêmio at the Maracanã in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão, Samuel Lino had a special reason to celebrate. The striker was called up to the Brazilian national team for the first time , following the injury of Manchester United's Matheus Cunha.
" When I got the news, I was very happy. I was surprised, because I wasn't expecting it. I want to make the most of it; I'm expecting it to be a great time, and I'll learn a lot, " the player declared after the match.
Samuel Lino 's call-up was due to Matheus Cunha's injury, which meant he would miss the next few matches. Coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to opt for the Mais Querido forward , who will have a chance to play for the national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia.
On the field, the match ended in a draw. The Rio de Janeiro team's goal was scored by Arrascaeta, following an assist from Pedro . The Rio Grande do Sul team equalized late on with a penalty kick converted by goalkeeper Thiago Volpi after a deflected ball hit Ayrton Lucas's arm.
The calendar is now paused for the FIFA World Cup. Mengão's next match will be on September 14th, against Juventude at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium. Following the 1-1 draw with Grêmio in the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship , football director José Boto responded to questions about potential reinforcements for the Mais Querido. According to the director, the club is satisfied with the squad assembled so far and is unlikely to make any further moves in the transfer market.
" The window is still open, until the 2nd. We don't have any plans to bring anyone else, but you never know because the market is volatile; an opportunity, a good deal, might arise. But, in principle, it's closed. I don't even think we have... in Portugal we say that too much water kills the plant, and I think we have enough water," declared José Boto at the Maracanã.
During this window, the club had already made significant moves, securing the arrival of defensive midfielder Jorginho, midfielder Saúl Ñíguez, forward Samuel Lino, midfielder Jorge Carrascal, and right-back Emerson Royal.
