Vasco's elimination in the semi-finals of the Campeonato Carioca also has moving personal stories. This is the case of Andrezinho, a former player who wore the Sacred Mantle, but also played for teams like Internacional and Vasco himself. The figure is important in the scope of Nova Iguaçu, being the technical coordinator of the club's youth categories.
In the Carioca Championship, Nova Iguaçu played full of young people. The winning goal, in fact, was scored by Bill, revealed by Flamengo and today the executioner of the Vasco team. Therefore, it made a lot of sense for Andrezinho to give an interview. Especially because the former athlete was visibly emotional and had to hold back tears when interviewed by Canal Goat.
“We get really emotional because I told them that this is a magical moment, a unique moment. For them to enjoy, because it will be marked in their history and career. 90% of the group never set foot in Maracanã. Catch Maracanã with 60 thousand people, with the Vasco fans, who are passionate, who fill the Maracanã in a game with a team with less investment. Taking these kids and playing with the personality they have is a moment to enjoy. This is the only way to remove the tension, the nervousness. They made us dream”, says Andrezinho. The dream, however, is quite difficult. This is because eliminating the current Vasco is very different from having to face Flamengo next.
As a player, the athlete emerged at Flamengo, making his professional debut in 2001. He He stayed at Mengão until 2004 in his only spell at the club, before playing for Pohang Steelers, from South Korea. But he had time to win cups in Gávea.
The former midfielder won the Campeonato Carioca in his first season, in 2001. Furthermore, he won the Champions Cup in the same year. His third and last title with the Sacred Mantle came in his last year, in 2004, when he lifted the Guanabara Cup.
Upon returning from South Korea, the player went to Nova Iguaçu, before playing for Internacional, Botafogo, Tianjin Teda, Vasco and Goiás. To end his career, he returned to Nova Iguaçu, where he builds his story off the field to this day.

In preparation for this weekend's clash against Flamengo , Juventude received good news. Coach Thiago Carpini will have striker Edison Negueba and midfielder Sforza, newly signed at the end of the transfer window, available for the first time . Alongside them, Lucas Fernandes returns after a period under medical care, expanding the coach's options to face Filipe Luís's Rubro-Negro.
While reinforcements are arriving, Juventude is also experiencing significant absences . Batalla and Giraldo are serving suspensions, while defender Abner is on the medical team. Luan Freitas is the favorite to fill the defensive spot.
Among those who remain out, the list includes five names: defenders Rodrigo Sam (thigh injury) and Natã (muscle injury), right-back Ewerthon (thigh problem) and forwards Galego (ankle) and Gilberto (thigh).
The newly arrived reinforcements give Juventude greater flexibility in midfield and attack. Sforza can play centrally to strengthen the marking and ball out , while Edison Negueba adds speed and depth on the wings. Lucas Fernandes emerges as an alternative to start or change the pace of play during the match.
With 14 wins, five draws, and just two losses in 21 matches , Flamengo leads Serie A with 47 points. Cruzeiro (44) and Palmeiras (43) are close behind. Juventude, in turn, occupies 18th place, with 21 points from 21 matches, six wins, three draws, and 12 losses.
The striker was traded to a Saudi Arabian club and, as they still hold 30% of the player's rights, Mengão will be entitled to a millionaire sum.

Flamengo will have a new financial return with the transfer of Lázaro, an attacking midfielder who came through the Flamengo youth academy . The player left Almería, in Spain, and was sold to Al-Najma, in Saudi Arabia, for 5 million euros (around R$ 32 million). The deal was confirmed this Wednesday (10).
In the 2022 sale, Flamengo had already earned €7 million (R$36 million at the time) and retained 30% of the economic rights . The contract also provided for the purchase of an additional 5% if Lázaro started 25 matches, which did not materialize.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Almería retained 15% of the rights to a future resale. Flamengo, on the other hand, will receive €1.5 million (approximately R$9.5 million) for the resale clause in the negotiations with the Spanish club.
Furthermore, the Rio de Janeiro club will also benefit from FIFA's solidarity mechanism, which guarantees a percentage of its revenue to training teams. In total, the club's revenue will exceed R$10 million from the deal.
Revealed at Ninho do Urubu, Lázaro made his senior debut in 2020, in a 1-1 draw against Palmeiras in the Brasileirão. For Flamengo, he played 62 matches, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists. He even had a stint with the club in 2024.
For Flamengo, the striker also participated in successful campaigns, winning a Libertadores, a Copa do Brasil, a Brasileirão and a Campeonato Carioca before moving to European football, where he never managed to achieve the same brilliance.
