The Vice-President of Football of Flamengo, Marcos Braz, and the Director of Football, Bruno Spindel, are already in Portugal to advance negotiations for left-back Alex Sandro and midfielder Carlos Alcaraz. The red-and-black already has advanced talks with the defender, who is without a club at the moment, and with Southampton, which holds the midfielder's economic rights. The information comes from journalist Luiz Gustavo, from 'Paparazzo Rubro-Negro'.

< In recent days, Flamengo has acted in a hurry in the signing market because the window for player registrations for the Copa do Brasil and Brasileirão closes on September 2nd. With many injuries in the squad and the need to have players in the absence of those called up, Mais Querido is racing against time to finalize the arrangements. Journalists Cahê Motta and Fred Gomes, from GE, were the first to publish about the directors' intention to go to old continent.

In Portugal, Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel must have direct contact with Alex Sandro. The player has been training at the facilities of Portimonense, a club in the southern region of the Portuguese country. The left-back has prestige with coach Tite and was used as a starter by the coach in 80% of the matches in which he played under his command in the Brazilian national team.

In the case of the Argentine midfielder, Braz and Spindel will have to convince the athlete and his staff that returning to South America is of added value to his career. The player understands that staying in Europe is beneficial, but sees in red and black a path to titles that can increase his value, a scenario similar to that of Gerson, who arrived at Flamengo in 2019 and returned to the old continent two years later for the Olympique de Marseille.

It is expected that the directors will also hold talks for Ecuadorian striker Gonzalo Plata, who plays for Qatari football. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the red-and-black made a proposal for 30% of the player's economic rights and will be able to buy a higher percentage according to the goals established in the contract.

Rodrigo Dunshee gained important support in his candidacy for president of Flamengo. Luciano Bandeira, president of the Rio de Janeiro section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-RJ), announced his support for the candidate at a lunch in downtown Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday (17).

Luciano is a member of the Advocacia Rubro-Negra group, made up only of lawyers who are members of the club, and asks the rest of the members to follow the vote for Rodrigo Dunshee. It is worth noting that other members had already declared their support for the current management.

“We want to build this story, help make this story even greater. President Landim, together with Rodrigo, managed to make the dream of land for the Flamengo stadium come true. It is very important that we have this group leading the process. (…) It is a very important election for Flamengo. (…) I ask everyone who has always accompanied me to help me in the campaign to elect Rodrigo Dunshee president”, said Luciano Bandeira in his speech.

It is worth highlighting that six political groups have already declared support for Rodrigo Dunshee to next president of Flamengo. They are: Fla Esportes; Flamengo Raiz; Our Fla; Red-Black Synergy; União Rubro-Negra and Vanguarda Rubro-Negra.

This is in addition to the groups that have part of the members supporting the candidate in the Flamengo elections: Advocacia RN and FLA+.

The Elections in Flamengo

The election to define the next president of Flamengo is scheduled to take place on December 9th, a Monday, at 8am, in Gávea. Maurício Gomes de Mattos and Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap) are the main opponents to Rodrigo Dunshee at the moment.

Wallim Vasconcellos, Pedro Paulo and Delair Dumbrosck also announced their candidacy. The tickets need to be registered from September 10th to 30th and it is difficult to gather signatures. It will not be surprising, therefore, if a candidate does not achieve the minimum required.
