The return of the Carioca Championship semi-final between Nova Iguaçu and Vasco will be held in Volta Redonda, and not in Maracanã, as initially planned. The decision was taken after the controversy involving the "Maracanã for All" provocation, carried out during the rental of the stadium by the duo Fla-Flu. The provocative gesture generated discomfort among Maracanã administrators, leading them to choose not to give up the space for the match.

The controversy began when, during the rental of the stadium by Flamengo and Fluminense for the In the Guanabara Cup semi-final, a banner was displayed with the words "Maracanã for All", accompanied by a caricature of the directors responsible for managing the stadium. The provocation was interpreted as a criticism of the lack of access of other clubs to the stadium, which is often used only by the most important teams in the state.

FLAMENGO AND FLUMINENSE BARRARAM DE VEZ

Faced with this provocation, Maracanã administrators chose not to provide the stadium for the match between Nova Iguaçu and Vasco. According to them, the attitude of the provocative clubs generated a climate of hostility that could compromise security and order during the sporting event.

For Nova Iguaçu, the change of location represents an additional logistical challenge, in addition to imply possible financial losses due to the change of location and the need to readjust ticket sales plans and event structuring. As for Vasco, although it was not directly responsible for the provocation, the change of location implies changes in planning and strategy for the match.

The decision to transfer the match to Volta Redonda, a city located approximately 130 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro, aims to guarantee the safety and tranquility of the sporting event, avoiding possible clashes or incidents resulting from the tension generated by the controversy.
