After years of restructuring, rubro-negro has low debt in relation to its revenue
|
0Flamengo went through years of financial reconstruction until reaching the level of racking up Brazilian football revenue records. A large part of this entire process was focused on paying off debts, and the Convocados Report points out that debt, which was between R$700 and 800 million reais 11 years ago, has today reached one of the lowest levels in Brazil.
< The study produced by economist Cesar Grafietti, from the Convocados consultancy, is based on the numbers released in the 2023 balance sheets. The analysis shows that red-black debt remained in the range of R$391 million. It is worth highlighting the fact that the club ended the year with zero bank debts. This means that the club is not paying interest and has room for investment, as was done in the market of the ball and in the purchase of the stadium land. The payments to be made disclosed in the balance sheet are mostly operational, that is, related to the club's gift. Amounts receivable from the sale of athletes and agreements with sponsors facilitate the payment of these short-term debts.
In addition, the Convocados Report stipulates an index to score the club's “leverage”: relationship between revenue and debt . Flamengo's revenue of R$ 1.3 billion makes the number 0.3, with the lower indicating the better capacity for new expenses.
Flamengo's debt is the 6th smallest
This entire result culminates in Brazil's sixth smallest debt. Flamengo is currently the club with the highest revenue in the country and is alongside the clubs with the lowest debts. It is precisely because of these good results and for treating football correctly, in fact, that the club fights for Financial Fair Play.
