In recent days, strong rumors have emerged that Flamengo would be investing in the signing of young goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, from Corinthians, as recommended by coach Tite. However, a source linked to the board of directors of the São Paulo club denied the possibility to journalist Samir Carvalho, from UOL.

”There is no proposal from Flamengo for Carlos Miguel. If Flamengo wants Carlos Miguel, Corinthians won't sell him cheap, an inside source told me,” said Samir. Even if they don't negotiate the young man with Rubro Negro, Corinthians could soon lose the archer, as the promise showed potential when he was activated during the Copa Sul Americana.

Currently in Carlos Miguel's sector, coach Tite counts on Flamengo with Matheus Cunha, Augustín Rossi and Santos. The last mentioned was constantly on the list of Mais Querido's new coach when he was commander of the Brazilian team. However, at the moment he is Rubro Negro's third goalkeeper, as Rossi and Cunha took turns in goal during the second half of the year.

Santos has a contract with Flamengo until December 2026, however, he is already attracting interest from Grêmio and Bahia. Another team that wants the archer is Athletico - PR, in the case of the player. At CAP, the athlete spent 11 years of his career. There he was champion of the Copa Sudamericana twice and the Copa do Brasil once.

In Santos' last match as a starter, he kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 victory against Corinthians at Maracanã. It was from defender Léo Pereira, in stoppage time. From this confrontation onwards, the archer was no longer used and remained on the bench.

Flamengo entered the field on Thursday night. With a packed Maracanã, Tite's men played the first match of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol (URU). The objective was to play a good game and take an advantage for the return game, next week. In this sense, the Rio team

Summary

Peñarol started well and Peñarol soon showed that they would play on the red and black error. Therefore, the Uruguayans opened the scoring after 12 minutes, with Cabrera, in a counterattack. Soon after, Flamengo responded with Plata's header hitting the post. But the red and black team had difficulty creating chances. In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo grew and had great opportunities to draw. Bruno Henrique, alone, headed over goalkeeper Aguerre, who also made a great save from Arrascaeta's shot.

In the second half, Flamengo came back even better, but came up against the strong Uruguayan marking and the lack of creativity to reach the opponent's goal. Tite moved the flanks, which gave Flamengo more speed, however, it had little effect due to a terrible night from Arrascaeta and De la Cruz.

What now?

With the result, Flamengo will need to win by at least two goals to guarantee one of the places in the Libertadores semi-finals. The match takes place in Uruguay, next Thursday. However, Fla needs to turn the key, because there is a Brazilian Championship game to play on the weekend. Tite's men face Grêmio, away from home, next Sunday, at 6:30 pm;

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".

Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF RIO

The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

IMPORTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR FLAMENGO

Mais Querido's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, highlighted that the agreement is the ideal way to give peace of mind to the club. "For the club, a good agreement is always better than an eternal discussion about values. The land has already been expropriated. The agreement is ideal to eliminate any doubts and for Flamengo to have the necessary peace of mind to begin the work", said Cotta.

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.

Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.

BAHIA'S INTEREST IS DENIED BY THE BOARD< /b>

As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season. The information of possible interest, therefore, was directly denied by Tricolor's directors.

Even so, the attacker remains one of the most targeted names in the transfer market for 2025, as he is in the final stretch of contract with Flamengoand you can now sign a pre-contract with any other team.

CORINTHIANS STAND OUT AS FAVORITE

With Bahia's denial, Corinthians remains the main favorite to sign Gabigol from next year. The possibility of the red-black striker wearing the Timão shirt gains strength, especially after coach Tite appointed Gabigol as the third option for Mengão's attacking command, behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique.
