The young player Lucyan, from Flamengo, had an unusual and exciting experience when he was called up to the Brazilian Under-20 Team. Initially, Lucyan was just participating in the team's training, with the role of completing the squad during the activities.

However, his performance caught so much attention from the coaching staff that he ended up being officially included in the squad list for the games. This surprising call-up by Lucyan did not result in any previously selected player being cut.

On the contrary, his inclusion was a recognition of his talent and dedication demonstrated during training. Lucyan's trajectory reinforces the importance of always being prepared and giving your best at every opportunity, as you never know when a unique chance may arise.

This story by Lucyan serves as an inspiration for many young athletes who dream of wearing the national team's shirt. The message is clear: dedication and performance can open unexpected doors and transform careers. For Lucyan, the call-up represents not only a personal achievement, but also an opportunity to show his potential on a bigger stage, contributing to the future of Brazilian football.

Nigerian striker Elija Shola renewed his residence visa, guaranteeing his stay in Brazil for another five years. The renewal of the permission was requested by Flamengo to the Federal Government. Furthermore, the player signed a new contract with the club, which is now valid until the end of 2027.

Although Shola has not yet debuted for Flamengo's professional team, he was listed for the classic against Flamengo. Botafogo, which ended with a 4-1 defeat at the Nilton Santos stadium. The striker was one of the highlights of Flamengo's under-20 team, which won the Libertadores and Intercontinental in the category.

Last month, Flamengo reached an agreement with Remo Stars, Shola's former club , purchasing 70% of the athlete's economic rights for 450 thousand dollars. The 19-year-old Nigerian has been on loan at Flamengo since April 2023. His last residence visa was valid for six months and expired in September 2024.

Shola was first scouted during the Viareggio Cup 2022, traditional grassroots tournament held in the Tuscany region, in Italy. He stood out as one of the main figures of his team, helping them reach the final of the tournament. Following this observation, Flamengo sent a scout to Nigeria to evaluate him again, confirming his signing shortly afterwards.

João Gomes and Lucas Paquetá, two players trained in the youth categories of Flamengo, are currently integrated into the Brazilian National Team. Both athletes, known as "Crias do Ninho", have stood out in their respective trajectories in Europe, and now train together under the command of the national team's technical committee.

João Gomes, who acts as midfielder , is one of the promises that emerged at Flamengo and today defends Wolverhampton Wanderers, popularly known as Wolves, in the Premier League. Since his arrival in England, João Gomes has shown constant evolution, both technically and tactically, gaining space in the squad and the trust of coach Gary O'Neil. His marking ability, intensity on the field and reading of the game were characteristics that caught the attention of the Brazilian National Team's technical committee, resulting in his call-up.

THE CLUB HAS PASSAGES FOR THE SELECTION

Lucas Paquetá, in turn, already has a more established career in European football. After leaving Flamengo, he spent time at Milan, where he had a complicated adaptation, but soon found his football again at Lyon, in France. Currently, Paquetá is one of the main players at West Ham United, also in the Premier League, where he has established himself as the team's number 10. His creative style of play, ability to organize the midfield and skill in decisive plays made him a key player in both his club and the Brazilian national team.

Paquetá's call-up to the national team, where he also wearing the number 10 shirt, reinforces his importance in coach Fernando Diniz's scheme. Paquetá has been one of the most used players in Brazil's recent matches, and his presence on the field has been fundamental to the team's offensive construction. His rapport with other players in the team, especially with Neymar, is one of the strengths that the coaching staff intends to explore during the next games.
